Please identify my pump guys

thank you hot shot there is wisdom in what you say for sure. But for the same reason’s you cite, I’m driving a '98 diesel pickup rather than a 2018.
Arguably more dependable, indisputably much simpler, and it cost me 65 hundred rather than say 35 thousand. I prefer $600 per set injectors that never go out; to $3,000 per set injectors that go out frequently and can take a Piston with it in about an hour. It’s interesting that two guys in business can say they can’t afford the down time so one guy gets a newer pickup and one guy gets an older one. But I do agree with you if I were pressure washing or jetting full time I wouldn’t have the luxury of time to hunt around for a bargain. hey man since when is three days a week full time?

I said. My main income is 3 days a week, which is 15 hr days. Get the car key out your ear . Rest of the week is easy peasy. Billing, maintenance ,tea time at the hair salon. Ooo and another 20 hrs of washing. And a 1998? Who you. Richey Rich ? You’ll get it one day, maybe. Good luck Ebay . Buckle up butter cup and keep reading.

Does it have the 12 valve Cummins

Yes sir ,with and un tampered P pump.

Just so you know I’m coveting your truck. In my opinion that’s one of the best engines ever made. Repair costs are low in comparison to others and they’re pretty basic to work on. I’ve had several 7.3 powerstrokes and they’re good but I’ve always wanted a 12 valve Cummins. finding one where the truck wasn’t falling apart around it has been my problem

Thanks. I love the cummins. Especially the mechanical 5.9 12 v. So many mods you can do for about free. There easy to find around here but hard to buy one. All the farmers use them for field trucks and never sell or let them die. You ever get on. Get one with a stick. Dodges down fall is there auto weak trans.

very nice hot shot! I prefer the ve pump just because I know I don’t need a thousand potential horsepower, and it’s a lot smaller- the engine doesn’t look so busy. but that’s just an aesthetics thing I know the people hump is Bulletproof. Mine is the early 98 quad cab 12 valve 5 speed 3500. not eBay what a guy on Craigslist over a thousand miles away in Arizona. looks like you got a real good deal was it dead or what?

P pump. should have read my post a little better before I sent it off. stupid phone.

You got that for $2800 running?
We’re ?
Do they have more ?
I’ll take 2 please.
Down here you could buy the the engine for that.
Guy want $3500 for the engine alone

New Orleans,Louisiana. Picked it up for $1600 cash. But had the tranny rebuilt with a hd torque converter. So I had $2800 in it before driving it back home to AR. 182 ,000 miles, nothing fancy. Cold ac and roll up windows with a cracked up dash board. If you’re a mopar fan ,ya know what I mean

The bed is what sold me. 11’×8’ .Its got 4:10 rears. Pulls away from everything but a fuel station. She like her fuel

I’m not a mopar fan but I do like cummins . Especially the 12 valve.

Unless you are pulling houses; I don’t know why 4:10 gears would ever be desirable with a Cummins. Much better mileage with the 3:55 ratio, and engine has enough torque to do the job without real low gears. My buddy babied his and got 18 mpg pulling a full size backhoe.

Here in Arkansas we actually work our trucks, you put 14 round bails at 1200lbs a piece on a gooseneck n haul it to the fields, you’re gonna want 4:10 's. Farm fuel is still 2.39 a gallon here,we actually burn it and make HP… You’re 3:55 ratio is great when you take the wife n kids on a day trip n bring back a BIG load of mulch and groceries at Wally world while renting a yellow Termite back hoe on a lil trailer from Home Depot at 18 MPG.I’ll stick with what I’ve got in farm country at 11 Mpg. My 2 cents …

But to each his own. Takes all kinds I gather.

Thank you for the input hot shot. I appreciate the help.

Anytime EBAY. Here to help sir

The higher ratio keeps the engine AND TRANSMISSION. Higher up in rpm range. Keeping the fluid pressure higher which is the key to keeping the transmission safe.
3.55 rear and heavy loads will destroy and trans and make too much heat in the torque converter or clutch until lockup .
This is why the same truck can have several load haul ratings using the same engine and trans. Just different springs and rearend
