Washed a house today…brick with vinyl trim,dormers and vinyl windows. I soaped half the house and was walking back to where I started soaping,preparing to start rinsing. As neared the corner where I started, I noticed that the vinyl windows were turning a light brownish color…looked back down the house and they were all doing it. Well, to say that I panicked…would be an understatement. QUICKLY, I started rinsing but the brown color held on.,went on and rinsed all of the windows, very GOOD. I was getting sick to my stomach…looking at replacing a lot of dollars worth of windows. I continued with the wash only rinsing the windows, going back and looking at the brown windows…FINALLY I started seeing the white return to them. I was VERY relieved as they all turned back a beautiful clean white. By the time I finished and walked the owner around the house…she was stunned at how bright white everything was.
That incident scared the crap out of me…
Now, I have washed other vinyl windows and none of them have done that.
You can be sure that I will test all vinyl windows in the future.
