So i have a B&S Powerflow pressure washer. It comes with a 25ft hose which isnt long enough for much so i purchased a 50ft hose at Northern Tool and Equipment. Well it dropped the pressure to a useless point and the syphon didn’t work.
My question is did i get the wrong hose, does this particular pressure washer only use short hoses, or is pressure dropping normal with a longer hose?
When i looked online it said a reason for not syphoning could be an extension added to hose.
I cant be stuck using a 25ft hose. What are my options. I do this as a side job so i need a unit that can use a long has and syphon detergents.
Do you have a link to your pressure washer? As long as you used the same size hose, i wouldn’t think an extra 25 ft. would cause that issue.
Of course, the general advice is that if you are going to do this to make money, you would be far better off with a unit meant for heavy use. The one you are using is probably mostly meant for a homeowner to piddle around their house with.
4 GPM units are the typically recommended starting points, although you can make money with smaller ones… it just takes longer to do the work.
Thats not the one i have. I have the gas powered one and its been great so far until i tried the new hose. It goes up to 5gpm but i think only on the high flow/low pressure nozzle selector.
It’s not going to work with more hose. It’s not 5gpm at 3k.It would need a 13 hp motor for that. The one he posted has a 5 hp That’s just a marketing gimmick like vendors selling 8gpm at 3500 psi with 21hp motors.
Sorry yea 30ft. The hose i bought fit the connectors but the actual hose was thinner. Its 5gpm for the low pressure high which is useful for shooting up high.
So what kind of specs will i need for 100 foot hose? Id like to upgrade sometime soon.
You might want to refer to the previous post. As has been said before, IBS @Innocentbystander has forgotten more about PWing than most of us will ever learn. Oh, and keep asking questions that he’s already answered and he won’t stay nice for very long. He’s one grouchy bastige, ain’tcha IBS?
I ask again is it 3/8 or 1/4. If you don’t know the awnser read until you do.
I don’t know what this means
So I’m confused do you want your current machine to work or do you want a new machine. Regardless reading is the awnser. Put in the time, read the posts, reap the benefits.
THAT WASN’T JUST SOMEONE. Take the advice given, quit trying to make a purse out of a sow’s ear, and work with what you have until you can afford to buy commercial equipment. It won’t take long if you stay busy. Once you can afford new equipment, do enough research here to ask intelligent questions.
