Your going to have a tough time with that in Tampa. Most of my customers are middle eastern. There religion almost makes them have a conversation with you and offer you something to eat or drink while working at there house. The short is they love to talk. With out a doubt some of the nices people I’ve ever met .
Man I hate night work. Home at 1am and back to work at 7am . Really wish I was better at saying no.
Back when i did landscaping i was doing a $80 job for a guy from turkey he ran a bread truck service. Its was very bizarre conversation. First he asked if i could just kill all his grass so he didn’t have to deal with it anymore then told me to cut down all his tomato and pepper plants because hes tired of they bugs eating them all before him. Then offered to pay me with wine and bread. I told him i would mow over his garden for him but that was it. He watched me from the windows the whole time. When i finished he refused to pay me what we agreed and gave me $50, a bottle of cabernet sauvignon and some bread that expired the following week. I have some funny/strange stories form landscaping but this was the most bizarre to me lol
What did you wash?
Gas station and a strip mall. I don’t do commercial work usually. But a lot of my customers owns businesses and I’m not going to tell them to call someone else. I really hate working at night.
Hate it. I only do it once a year to remind myself how bad it sucks and there’s plenty of money to be made between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Luckily I only do it half dozen times a year.
Ha, I just got in. We left at 6:30 last night to wash 73 28’ Bobtails, 28 Trailers and 24 Tractors. Half the guys like nights and the other half prefer days so it’s a revolving door over here. I will always be out creeping in the dark
List of things I hate:
- Working nights
- Flat work
- Fleet work
- Gas stations and restaurants in general
- Cleaning wood
You checked off 2 of my top 5 in one night.
For any lurkers in KC, these are the markets you’ll never have to worry about me taking from you.
I should mention I’m doing 4k bucks worth of flat work tomorrow night lol so make that 3
I just physically shuddered … flat work, overnight is my pressure washing nightmare. There couldn’t be a more boring combination in our industry. I can’t even get excited about the $4k part. Lol
I’m glad there’s people like you though to subcontract to do it!
Hire some hot chicks to work the hoses and you’ll be just fine and ummm I’ve never once subbed
But there are plenty of companies to sub to was my only point.
I gotcha
