New to the game looking for some basic pointers

I’ve got a pretty sweet deal going here locally with a big construction outfit washing their parking lots before the stripers will paint the parking lot. I just finished a job Saturday that was 48 hrs of wash time.
My equipment
Mi-t-m 4gpm/3500psi
Mi-t-m 4.4gpm/2500psi
2 15" surface cleaners that just attach to the lance.

I’m considering setting up my trailer to run a 8gpm unit and get a 20-24" sc.

My questions
Researching Surface Cleaners is exhausting, 4" per gallon. And a bunch of opinions.
Where is a trusted source with competitive prices on skid units.
If I buy a cold water unit can hot water be added to it later or no?

A hot box can be added after the fact to a cold water machine.

Awesome! Thank you

Hey man, welcome. Pressure Washer Products has some great prices. Pressure Tek and Southside Equipment are two other respected vendors, with good deals.

Also, you can join your two pressure washers together with a siamese kit. Russ at Southside can help you with that, i believe.

Sheesh, you’ve got a gig like that, get a couple of 8gpm machines. Heck one would cut your time in half. I would have stopped 10 hours into the 48 and ordered one, lol. Only took me about 2 - 3000sq ft driveways before I said screw this 4gpm crap and bought an 8

Well me and a buddy ran a couple 12-13 hr days. I’m probably low balling myself bc I’m charging 50-55 an hour per guy.

My goal is to get an 8gpm to clean with the SC and still have the 4.4 to clean the curbs and wash the shit away with the water broom.

Throw that water broom in the trash and get a ball valve for rinsing.

That’s what I’ve been seeing in videos… I bought the cheapest broom I could on amazon to try it out and it really helped bc the lots I do have a lot of mud and shit from land scrapers and equipment. Thanks for the input though. I’ll certainly try it out. I need them anyways for unloaded startups

What ball vaves are being used at the business end of your pressure hoses? Pressuretek seems to only go up to 2000psi.

Depends on where you live. You can probably find a few dollars cheaper, but about the best px you’re going to find in $34-$35

Thank you sir… guess I was just assuming they were long handle valves.
I also see that folks have a female QC after the Ball Valve, when rinsing they never have the issue of the water blowing out the o ring?

I don’t, can’t say for others. Some prefer the male, but I like the frothing action

I prefer the male. But not in a 2017 kinda way…

Same here all my hoses have rhe male end. All attachments have the female end. Reason being is you drop the end of the hose a lot so it is cheaper to replace a male end… So in this case the ball valve would be considered " the end" of the hose…

Right on. I saw a video on YouTube of a guy rinsing a driveway with a ball valve and a 10gpm unit. Damnit that was sweet. I don’t see that happening with a 4.4gpm but I’m saving now for an 8gpm pressure pro
