New(to me) truck

Yeah at that price it’s a win either way

Mine has 368k on it and has plowed snow for 10 years. Best motor ford ever made!

What about the 4.6L V8 or the new 5.0 Coyote?

4.6 is the same motor I believe just smaller scale. I haven’t owned one? 5.0 seems fast! My dads truck has one and it is super fast. But he also developed a coolant leak somewhere and quickly traded it off. We couldn’t find the leak so we assume it blew a head gasket and was slowly consuming it. He didn’t want to deal with it so he traded it for the newest model.

My mechanic buddy is always raving about the the 4.6 saying they’ll never fail. That’s all I know hah. But I’ve had and heard experiences with the 5.0 coyotes and they are legit. Awesome engine.
Me…I’m sticking with my 6.0 diesel

Wow, great find. Let’s see some pictures when you get it set up. I have been wanting a flatbed but I almost wonder if the truck you got is better.

Funny…

The reason I like it is I can set my residential unit up on it. I’m going to mount the roof system in on of the compartments. @Innocentbystander gave me some great ideas

I want you to watch this YouTube video. Then look up this person’s story. He preached at my church a while back. It was a miracle.
God is great.

I had the 4.6 in a work truck and it was a dog. 250k on it and it’s still going strong but it has no power.

Issues with the 5.0 and then stick it out with one of fords biggest problem children since the pinto :joy:

Kinda like the old 300 six cylinders. No power but would run forever

Kinda like my 7.3 also . To me it’s got plenty of power that was until I drove my buddies with the new 6.7 . I shouldn’t of done that

I really like the 6.7 but the 7.3 is tried and true. It’s probably the least expensive to maintain. I’ve had a couple and loved them. They’re easy to work on and will outlast the 6.7

I’m with ya on that. They are very reliable. Injectors were picey but they did last to 280k miles it’s got 400k on it now . I don’t plan on getting rid of it that’s for sure . If I buy a new truck I’ll still keep this old girl she’s been to good to me to let go

Nobody likes the 6.0, but if you do it right, it will last you forever. But when you have a beast like this it’s tough to get in to some spots. image|666x500

4.6 is terrible. I have an 03 that has blown 3 plugs qne they cant pull any weight

Get a lisle spark plug extractor for $30 in case you bust one so you don’t get stuck.

Those are great when you are doing a tune up, but they dont help when you shoot a plug out of the head and snap the coil in half. Lol

That is a nice truck. I like the 6.0 I had one for years without any problem. I have many friends that did true bulletproof mods . Unfortunately they all still blew there motors doing stupid stuff with them . I still can’t figure out why people buy 8000lbs trucks and turn them into hot rods . Especially if they use the truck to make a living
