New setup idea

Hey guys, I’m new as of last year. I purchased a 14ft tandem axle trailer with a 525 gal water tank, 30 gal chemical tank, Honda gx690 with Beckett burner, two 200ft summit house reels, and a Big guy surface cleaner. After using the unit I’m extremely satisfied and have made a good amount of money with it. I do not have a soft wash set up as I use my high pressure hoses and run the low pressure nozzles to apply SH. After looking around I have decided to sell my entire unit when things slow down and purchase a truck where I plan on mounting things on the bed of the truck. My thoughts are that it would be easier to not have to carry a trailer around although I would not be able to carry as much water I coud mount a smaller water tank, chemical proportioner ( unknown as of what brand), fat boy bandit that I would use to soft wash with as well as roofs, Honda gx690 ( maybe a second one or 630, with all stainless attachments and hose reels, and maybe a couple ladders on ladder racks. Anyone have have suggestions, pros, cons of what I may run into?

Will do thank you.

There’s pros and cons of condensing your rig.
You could put everything on a flatbed then have a trailer with a larger tank and a hot box for when you need either of those things.

I ran a truck like that (wasn’t mine) while it was convenient and much easier to drive it really limited what you could carry if you needed extra stuff do another type of job . It was a 3/4 ford and it got around ok. But there was little room for things like drops and or radios. We’re we’re packing up once and my helper put the a radio in the little cubby hole between the washer and tank. Since the machine started from the rear of the truck I didn’t see it and the exhaust turned it into something that resembled a jackson pollock painting… I would def run a full 8’ flat bed. Overall I did like the e ease of use tho. I will set my truck up with a flat bed when I can get a big enough truck.

Thank you sir, this exact setup is what I have in mind. It very rare that I use all of my 525 gallon tank even when hooking up to residential homes, about as often as I use my hot water. So what you have said would work perfect for me

I agree with what I have planned for my new setup I will mount the ladders on the above side with racks the hose reels should be perfect beneath them. If all works out as I have it framed out to be I should have room for storage on the opposite side. I rarely have to use extra stuff that won’t fit in the back seat of my truck

We ran a 225gal tank with no problems but it was also an ibc. I imagine you would save some space using a leg tank. Even with 75gal or so it was enough to feel it in breaking and acceleration. If you drive the truck with less water than that you would get air in in the pick up tube regardless of whether or not the ball valve was closed or not.

That’s what I’m debating 225 seems like enough water, all houses around here push out 6-8gpm so I’ll just have to judge it with the smaller gx630 and if I purchase a trailer put the 525 gal tank with the gx690 on it. I appreciate all the great advise

With some time and some thought you can probably get it to work pretty well. This particular rig had really no thought or effort put into it. It was just thrown up there and lines attached.
