New Ones to Softwashing

Just got my DS nozzle set from Pressuretek, and I haven’t used it yet. Do I understand correctly that the shooter type nozzles will draw soap?

You have four nozzles in that kit… two round orifices, two shaped more like an ellipse. The larger of both orifices (round and ellipse) will draw soap. the smaller, more constricted ones will spray water only. So, you have your soap high and rinse high, then your soap low and rinse low tips. What a great setup! You’ll enjoy how it simplifies things for you.

That really clarified things. Thank you! Can’t wait to use the set.

Bear in mind, if you are using pressure to stop the soap flow you are not soft washing. Not that that is a bad thing. It is just not soft washing.

When I pull my DS line I get a lot of air drawn in and it causes erratic flow, I have a 4gpm, 4200 psi pressure-pro. I would like to keep the same two tips on all the time line you are doing. Any suggestions?

One of the PWRA vendors sells a mini shutoff that you can put on your injector draw tube. PressureTek I think. That would eliminate your problem.

I pull the pick up tube and put it in a bucket of clean water when rinsing. This makes me feel like I’m getting full flow. My son just turns the ball valve off. He got the valve at PressureTek.

Thanks for the input. I think I’ll use the bucket of clean water…seems like this would also help keep everything flushed out nicely.

this will also flush the soap from the injector, cleaning it and giving a longer life

I’m about to do my first soft wash job on a brick and painted wood siding house. I know that normal house mix will be fine on the brick, but is it ok for the painted areas as well? I know I’ll have to rinse those areas a lot, but is there anything else I should be aware of?

Here’s a picture of the painted area.

we did a painted wood house today.

Test a small area to make sure there is no discoloration from the house wash. After that, just don’t let it dry on any surfaces and make sure to rinse well… Especially the glass.
