As dumb as questions get, I know, but I ordered my first Jrod and curious if I can just screw the pieces together as is, or do I need to use some sort of sealant, like Loctite?
Don’t think it affects the answer but just in case it does, I have a 4 GPM/4300 General Belt Drive.
Blue monster is my favorite but yes you need something and no it doesnt matter what order they go in. I would reccomend keeping all your orifices the same direction.
Yes teflon tape will work.
Next time get these
Teflon tape. Also some silicone spray lube on the fittings, you’ll be popping them off and on a lot.
Oh and some Viton o-rings when you get a chance, the rubber ones don’t hold up to bleach very long.
Any size is fine. That’s more of a personal preference.
For some reason I remember reading somewhere on here to never use the liquid thread sealer. I’ve searched and can’t find it someone correct me if I’m wrong. May just be brain blur…
Hmm. Maybe on hot water machines it isn’t recommended. I plumbed everything upstream of my pump with thread sealant and everything downstream with teflon tape. No problems so far.
Yea like I said I have read so much I think I imagine things lol but I thought someone said the liquid stuff wasn’t sh safe or not idk just thought if I could save him a headache later I used teff tape on everything.
Those are never under pressure. Not ever. Try screwing them together without Teflon tape and see if you need anything on them.
Teff tape is all you need
