New Guy, Beginner, or whatever y’all want to call it

Hello to all, in a effort to help the family with some added income I have began my reading and research. I have learned that this place is a great place to learn. I just wanted to introduce myself to the page and look forward to learning from you folks! If any would like to drop their opinions on recommendations for starter equipment I’d be glad to added it to the list of suggestions. I have about a $2,000 start up budget. I have a local company that provides starter bundles varying from 1400-2,000 dollars. Thank y’all!

Welcome! Great deals on used market for well taken care of equipment. I would start there. GL!

I just went through the whole ‘startup’ process in 2018-2019. If I had to do things over again, I would just put an 8/3500 machine on the credit card as it will get paid off in short order.

This forum is the reason I started at 7gpm. When I see people post on FB about problems from starting with a small machine, I thank my lucky stars I found this place first. Good equipment makes way fewer headaches, even if it means borrowing a little bit of money the first year

You know, dcbrock-- I’m sitting here with about 5 hours on my 5gpm/3000 machine i got from northerntool (direct drive) and I am already planning on getting the 8/3500. I’ve seen you on the window cleaning forum so you can get my thinking-----I guess it’s like going from using traditional tools to a full on RO/DI pure water setup and high modulus water fed pole.

While I have no issues with my washer, the recommendations for that motor/pump combo (8gpm and 3500psi) on this forum is almost all positive and everybody “wishes they had this when they started”. I see these things, and can relate it with how you learn new ways of window cleaning.

Now that I look at it in that aspect, I am looking at new washers and either getting a aluminum skid made for my truck-- OR going the trailer route— which…with my 2004 nissan frontier 2.4l 4-cylinder— is not ideal…

You don’t have to get a really big rig, my entire setup weighs a grand total of about 1800#. I’m sure your Frontier could handle that just fine.

Were you on the forum yet when the guy pulled his trailer rig with his Prius. A Frontier is like a monster truck compared to that…lol

I"d say trailer would actually be better than a truck skid for the frontier. Have to think about payload especially if you’re going with an 8 gpm

That thread is a classic, never will such thing be repeated lol
