Brick mason made a mess of this house, mortar all over the brick. I was thinking NMD80 full strength? Followed by hot water? Any suggestions?

muriatic acid and a scrub brush?

that’s how the brick layers i worked around do it.

I agree that’s what all the brick layers use in Texas as well.

Muriatic acid with a scrub brush…No thanks. If I can’t use my Powerwashers then we ain’t doing the job.

I would avoid muriatic, its hard to get consistent results with it. NMD 80 is great, just be prepared to do some scraping for the larger tags. I like to use a spare brick if there is one laying around. Also, I avoid going over 1500 psi since you can blow out some of the fresh mortar at 3500 psi. $.50 to $1 per square foot depending on height, degree of difficulty and volume. Also, if the brick was laid more than 2 or 3 months ago, walk away.
