Need to redirect unloader

I have a new machine with block mounted unloader, however, the pressure hose outlet faces outwards on the trailer. I need it to face towards the reel in the back. I rather not relocate the unloader, since it was factory mounted, can I just install a street elbow like the one pictured, or do I need galvinized pipe. Is the brass okay? It’s 8gpm @3500PSI.

All my brass elbws and bushings got destroyed by the high pressure. Dultmeier carries high pressure fittings.

Seriously? WOW. What elbows should I use, from the galvinized pipes at Home Depot? You mean the reducing bushings like on a hose reel? How do you know what PSI these things are rated for? I also want to put one on my surface cleaner…

Lol. Don’t use anything from Home Depot. I posted pics of all my bushings blowing out. They don’t tell you the rating and to get brass tight enough you stretch it and compromise it. The last set of fittings I got from Dultmeier were rated for 4000 psi and made of steel.

I posted pics here somewhere of my brass bushings I had to remove with internal pipe extractors. Pain in the neck.

I’ll find them.

Was that failure due to PSI? That’s astonishing! How about this street elbow: 90 Degree St. Elbow, Zinc-Plated Steel Pipe: MPT x FPT - Dultmeier Sales even though it says 3000 PSI can it still be used @ 3500 PSI? Where can I find an 4000 PSI elbow, this seems uneasy!

You found it. Typically things give you a max PSI rating of 70 to 80 percent of their actual failure point. That’s what I’m using and I’m using it with a 4000 psi machine. I’m certain the reducers state 4000 psi rating.

The stuff at home depot is typically made as cheaply as possible and to handle the super low psi of your plumbing.

Like this regular old steel hex bushing. Rated for 300 PSI. Zoro Select Malleable Iron Hex Bushing Class 150 5P512 | Zoro

Thanks, I’m just starting out, only thwarted by the continued freezing temperatures. I have a new 8gpm washer sitting in the garage wrapped in blankets. They test at the factory in Florida then ship out, and I not sure all the water is out of the check valves and whatnot. Can’t wait for spring! I lost a smaller washer two years ago that had a little water left in the head…
Did the PSI knock them brass out, or some kind of corrosion? I thought brass was good for 4 to 5 K PSI, All the quick connects come in brass…

Split 3 of them into two pieces. They’re only rated for a few hundred psi and when you tighten them down you weaken them.

Brass is just fine if it’s built for it. Like all metal it has to be a certain thickness, hardness, forged/melted/cooled a certain way. If it’s designed for it it’s fine.

300 PSI?!?!?
wow.
So, do I shop for hydrallic fittings? I realize air fittings are totally different, what is the correct term, hydraulic?

Thanks for the elightenment,

Yeah. Parker makes fittings that aren’t that much more expensive than regular fittings and they’re rated up to 5000 psi. It’s just kind of a puzzle to find them exactly how you need them. Make friends with a hydraulic shop.

I bet there’s 10 near you if there’s 100 in Kansas City.

I learned the hard way so hopefully you don’t have to. Lol

$5 for a hp fitting.

Here’s a parker at 6000 psi for $5.

When you see NPTF it’s the same as NPT.

Thanks.
Learned something today.
That’s what this forum’s for.
See this picture? You can see the pressure outlet sends it out to the side of the trailer, I just need to send it to the left, toward the back where the reels will be. Thanks for your help:

I use hydraulic fittings from NT…

I got the idea from YOU

You could move the block itself and mount it wherever you want

Yes, I wanted to rotate it 90’ but no room left.

Mount it on the rail of the trailer, you can mount it anywhere that works for you
