Metal barn roof

I have never washed a painted metal roof before. Should I lower the amount of SH on this? I plan on down streaming 2gal SH/ 3gal water with 1oz of elemonator per gallon. Thanks for any input and advice!

We have washed the roofs on metal Morton buildings, and sometimes the lichen takes a little rinsing. 35% mix is probably good but I would recommend neutralizing with a PM for Bleach or Bleach Wash type product to avoid corrosion.

Hey John, what does the PM stand for?

I to would like clarification on what PM is?

Good question, I assume it is alluding to being used after SH, as in PM is after AM. It’s a product name “PM for Bleach”, click here PM for Bleach 5 Gallons

“PM for Bleach” is sold by Powerwash.com and Bleach Wash is an AC Lockyear chemical, ie soft wash systems

Thanks! I have never heard of that. Will look into it! I love this forum and the information it provides!

Couldn’t agree more, always gotta stay one step ahead of the competition, always gotta be learning new stuff…

I am curious if you actually meant downstreaming or really meant dedicated roof pump. Your solution would have been very diluted had you downstreamed it and may have been ineffective or at least taken much longer.

If it is painted it will clean up very nice, if it was raw non-painted I would have advised to stay away from using SH. A 30%-35% mix with a stream tip will work prefect.

Those that have used PM… home many ounces per gallon would you use to neutralize when you downstream with it? 10:1 btw
