Members in Greenville SC area

I know there are several members on here that live in the Greenville SC area. We’re having our annual upstate power washers dinner/meeting this coming Monday. the 25th at 6pm at Logans Roadhouse off Pelham Rd. Would encourage you to attend to get to know some of your compatriots in the industry around here… They have a meeting room to the left of the bar.

This is awesome, I need to see if people do this in my area. If not I need to start one!

yes, we’ve had great success with it. You see trucks running around all the time, but a lot of the time you may not know who they are or what they do. It’s just a chance to get everyone in the business together, get to know one another in an informal setting. Learn what areas of expertise some may specialize in and develop some relationships. That way if you need some help on a job, you’ve got someone you can call on and vice versa. I’ve got numerous guys that I can call on now, say I have a big project or get backed up and need some help. Plus once you get to know someone, then I think there is less tendency on most peoples part to use price as a selling point.

@SurfaceMedic I wish there was something like that around here

No kidding. This is a great idea. @Racer glad you guys are having success with it.

Wish there was something like that in Arkansas!

Start one going in your area. Just tell some of other washers you know. There was another guy who started the one here with me. I think that helps. We both knew some different people. Just printed off a few notices and stuck up at local chem supplier and local pw shop. Posted it on a couple of the FB sites. First year we had about 10-12, 2nd year about 15 and we’ll see this year. but everyone who came to first one, came back to the 2nd one. I also got a couple of local suppliers to donate a prize, just like a gal of chem or something we gave away as door prizes. Just had everyone drop a card in a jar and drew them out. Bot a pack of name cards so everyone could write their names on so you’d know who you were talking to.

Found a centrally located place that was easy to get to and had small separate dining room. Had maybe 3-4 hours i setting up whole thing.

we try to have in February before everyone gets crazy busy.

That is a great idea although I doubt I could start something like that around here. I’ve already emailed 2 guys in my area introducing myself and asking if they would like to get together sometime, it’s been 3 weeks with no response. Oh well.

Lot of established guys may not want to help… Get established and then propose.

@Racer I’ll be at the next one bud !
