Then multiply by 2 for the second story giving me 4788sqft.
Doesn’t seem to be that big at all. I already gave him a price but just wanted to check with you guys on how y’all go about your measurements. @infinity i remember you have a nice formula you usethat want to look at but couldn’t find it in the Search
I’m pretty sure they never use to count the basement as square footage but anymore or, at least around here, if it’s finished space they include it. That might be why you’re thinking it looks smaller than that.
@marinegrunt@Firefighter4hire could be. Oh well super easy square house. Told him $475 with the promotion im running in the paper trying to upsell him on the concrete for another $200.
Are you sure the formula you’re thinking of wasn’t for square foot for a roof including the pitch?
For basic squares or rectangles it’s just length X width. As long as the “squares” or levels of the house are the same size you then just multiply by the number of levels. If you have a 20 story skyscraper and, every level is the same, as long as you know the width and length you can figure out the square foot. Just do it exactly like you did in your first post. Length X Width give you the square footage of one level then you just multiply that by 20.
No i have got pretty good at roofs i can about tell the pitch without useing my pitch app and then ill use this chart to do my math https://myrooff.com/roof-pitch-multiplier/
Oh well. Usaully zillow has the square feet then i just add in the porch or garage. No biggie just had me thinking i might be wrong. Hope this guy accepts the estimate.
I charge by the linear foot per floor myself. I wish it were all 2 story houses on slabs. Won’t say what I would charge, as it’s somewhat lower, but me and my tech would be in n out in 45 mins or less on a cracker box building like that, provided there’s no porches to ladder up on or anything. Running two 8 gpm machines also factors into that as well. What may take one guy with a 5 gpm 3-4 hours may take me and my guy less than an hour.
This house will take me around 2 or 2.5 hours drive up to drive out but im in no hurry. I usaully only schedule 2 houses a day or 3 easy ones. My goals for this year was to make back what i have into the business and i made back the equipment cost quickly and have already made back what i spent on my truck too and then some. My other big goal was to gain customers and build up reviews on my site and page which is also going very well. This winter i will be upgrading my machine and trailer setup to tackle more jobs a day and using the rest of the money to market 4x as much as i have done this year. I have played around with a good amount of ways and am confident in what works well and what doesn’t so well. I have made more than i thought i wouldnthis year and am planning to make double if not triple next year.
Awesome man! Doubled from last year myself, but spent next to nothing in advertising all due to great reviews and referrals. Mostly from Nextdoor. Hired Justin Monk last month to build me a better website and run seo, so we’ll see how the next few months go. Unlike the previous seo/ads company I used, he actually shot me straight (like other local seo companies I talked to), and wouldn’t mess with any seo or ads until I converted to Wordpress from WIX, whether he built the wp site or not. My website has been my weakest link this year, because it just does not convert at all. A huge majority of traffic to it bounces after landing on the home page. I really believe I’d be miles ahead had I realized and tackled that last year. Lesson learned.
I woukd be interested in talking with him myself. Im getting great reviews but my website only pulls up it i type in pressure washing followed by my town name and doesnt even appear on google. Only the maps.
I paid about $250 to a different guy to do my map pack stuff. It definitely helped for coming up in the map 3 pack. I’m usually the top map listing in my city. Like @Sasquatch said, get your Google My Business listing setup if you haven’t already, and once it’s live and verified, load it up with pictures and keep it active. You may already be doing that, but I do know keeping it active helps. Also, if you just have your city listed on GMB, and not your actual address, Google doesn’t place nice with you.
