Magic with Plastic! (last resort)

I’m a lot more worried about this guy running a propane torch inches from the gas cap… I’m definitely open to trying this, but he should’ve taken that fender off. Someone with a leaky gas cap is going to turn themselves into a human rocket on the advice of this video.

You would have to heat up the metal before the paint will start to get to hot. I would definitely use a heat gun before a propane torch though. It’s far more consistent and easier to get even results.

I tried the heat gun thing on my Jeep’s trim. Didn’t work very well for me. Back to Black was about 5x better and much faster. YMMV.

Heat gun output isnt like a torch. Light it and go. Just like browning sugar on creme brulee. 0

I would be intered to see how it looks when it fades out again. Will it have flame marks similar to oxidized vinyl?

My brother in law owns a body shop and they use a heat gun. He siad it doesn’t last forever
