Long time coming

PRAISE THE LORD…this is a blessing!

They got started on our seawall, dock and boathouse replacement at the lake. I rode up today to check progress…it looks good for a start. They got the demolition done and have started on framing the dock, barge is sitting in place to begin the boathouse post driving in the morning. They say they will be done in less than 2wks…have my doubts…but we will see.
I wanted to try the alum brightner on the pontoons but I didn’t have time. I will get that in the next couple of days and post the pics.

I’m anxious to see the end results of everything. What are they using for the seawall?

After I used the aluminum brightener I ended up taking some Meguire’s Ultimate Compound and did a quick polish with the buffer. It made a huge difference and only added maybe an hours time. It helped take away the white haze look. I’ll try and take some pictures tomorrow. I think I mentioned it in the other thread but get some Muriatic for the hard scale that’s below the waterline. It eats that stuff right away. I tried a green scouring pad and it wouldn’t touch it. Muriatic mixed 1:1 dissolved it. I added Slo Mo to help it stick. I would go weaker with multiple applications. It works but takes awhile. I finally ran out of patience and mixed 1:1. At that strength you also see it reacting with the aluminum and not just the scale though.

Going a lot slower than they said and slower than I wanted…but we are thankful for this blessing.

To be honest…I really had not stopped to consider how involved it is to this work.
