I have just set up my first trailer and while at home wanted to test things out a bit. I put in a half gallon of 12.5 with 1.5 gallon water and a splash of Elemonator. I did my back patio, which turned out decent but prior to cleaning there were white marks on the side of my brick. I hit it with the pump sprayer, let dwell, went to rinse and the marks magnified. Needing some help with this. Did a search and not much came up. Before and after pic attached. I appreciate your time.
Search for efflorescence removal
Thank you!
Ya what said. Most likely it looks magnifies because you removes the mold and dirt. Def looks like a calcium stain.
The problem with effervescence is that you can clean it and it looks great. For a couple days, maybe months. Until all the minerals weep out it’s going to be back. Maybe even worse than before.
BINGO…it is the gift that keeps on giving.
Lol it’s basically masonry herpes.
What causes the minerals to weep out in certain spots? I did notice there is a drain pipe about 10ft above it but do not see signs of efflorescence around the drain pipe so not too convinced yet that that’s where it’s coming from.
The water flowing over pulls it out via capillary effect so by a drain pipe makes sense if it drains on it. It could be totally random on a blank wall. It’s weird stuff. I think the only thing you could probably do is clean it then seal it, but then you’re gonna have to strip it later when stuff grows behind it.
