So here lakeside truck n trailer are on incline. Best to level the trailer to keep oils in pump and engine at safe levels?
Unhook it from vehicle.
Think for the short answer I’ll just prop up the skid.
I run my machine parked on inclines all the time. Maybe its not ideal but it whould be fine.
It will be fine running it how it is. I wouldn’t disconnect the trailer on a hill though. Even with wheel chocks lol!
If you have this…
Get this…
Only takes a minute to swap out.
Or uses Anderson camper levelers.
I wouldn’t think a minor incline would be an issue?
It’s not going to hurt but can effect tongue weight calculations some. You don’t have the trailer loaded down so I wouldn’t worry about it much.
I think a trailer sure looks a lot better when level but I tend to let things like that bother me more than they should.
I think the OP is talking about when the trailer is parked on an incline, not how it hangs on level ground. I agree that level is better. But a slight incline while parked (as pictured) shouldn’t be an issue.
Yeah…after reading a little slower this time you’re right. I tend to browse too fast sometimes and just assumed it was like that all the time.
Please disregard my previous posts about dropping the ball. That isn’t a temporary solution. I think Knighthawk is on the right track if it’s a real steep incline. I agree that the picture above isn’t steep enough to worry about.
Thanks for correcting me Alex.
My obvious concern was equal oil distribution in pump and engine. The oil level on pump was way over sight glass w the incline. Propped it up somewhat level to a more comfortable position.
Definitely better to be safe than sorry. Propping the board under like you did is good insurance.
Your skid isn’t bolted down?
Nope. I feel as the weight keeps it in place pretty good. It does shift a tad on transport. Then again if I get in a wreck it would probably go flying.
Or ya know have a deer pop out in front of you!
And wind up in your lap…
Please, please, please bolt it down. Like, pronto.
Besides the obvious safety hazard with the machine not being bolted. Please tell me you have more than one strap holding the buffer tank down
