Laundry Day

When you have an unplanned day off and you’re banned from the washing machine you do laundry with a drywall mud mixer in a trash can.

Such is life I guess…

I didn’t see that service listed on your site?

See: “unplanned day off”

Got snow yesterday and it’s 41 degrees today with wind. Feels like 20 degrees. Playing catch up tomorrow and Wednesday though. Landed a sweet little commercial one day gig and it’s supposed to be 70… which feels like winning the lottery.

I feel ya! I plowed snow all night and it’s all melted off already. Hoping to wash houses this weekend. I’m way behind!

Is that a harbor freight drill. Shame, shame, shame

Haha yes… good eye. and I just recorded a video about why you never buy one. I’ll have it up soon.

The last video on my YouTube channel I talked about it briefly too. Said I was surprised at how it held up. I’ve been trying use them as much as possible and the impact driver crapped out on my after 5 short months.

I had never owned a Ryobi drill. I was at home depo and they had this big combo kit with saws drills and all. I LOVE my Ryobi stuff! I’ve had it for 3 years now and I’ve abused the crap out of it all and it keeps trucking.

The difference between Ryobi and harbor freight is the warranty. Ryobi has the same warranty as DeWalt. 3 years. Harbor Freight, 3 months.

If you compare apples to apples, Milwaukee, which is my go to, and DeWalt is less expensive than Harbor Freight.

I was just telling someone in another thread my favorite grinder of all time is a $40 Ryobi and my $120 Milwaukee grinder hasn’t come out of the tool box in a year.

I bought the 6 port charger and 3 extra batteries. Best money spent!

If I were smarter I would’ve bought all the Hilti stuff I could afford a few years ago when they had no questions asked lifetime warranties. Now they’ve got 20 year “fine print” warranties.

The best money I’ve ever spent on a power tool was a Porter Cable drill and impact driver right after Black & Decker bought PC. A decade ago easy. Maybe even longer. I figured I should buy some PC before B&D ruins it and I have not been disappointed. That drill and impact driver have been through the power tool equivalent of Armageddon and I’ve only replaced the batteries one time… they still work beautifully.

Doesn’t the laundry just wind around the mud mixer? Do you have to manually keep changing directions? I do a toilet plunger in a fiver, but I’m looking for a way to do larger loads, i.e. canvas tarps.

That’s what the settings 1-12 are. When it binds up it grinds and agitates the load.

I have a PC set. drill and impact driver. I also have DeWalt. IMO the DeWalt impact driver smokes the PC driver

I’m still waiting to hear why he is banned from the laundry machine.

That makes sense.

If you bought the PC after 2004 it’s no better than a black & decker firestorm. Black & Decker bought them and transitioned PC to the cheap line and made Black & Decker stuff even cheaper. Prior to 2004 Porter Cable was right up there with the big dogs. In carpentry and woodworking they WERE the big dog. At least in my area.

I washed dirty rags with some oil on some and thought it was okay to put a splash of Dawn in there with it. Suds EVERYWHERE. Since then I haven’t been able to use it. Especially for rags. Now I “prewash” with the drywall mud mixer, soak them in the cheapest degreaser I can find for 24 hours, turn up the water heater, and put them in for 2 “heavy duty” cycles.

I was joking more or less about being banned, but I still haven’t had to do laundry in a year. Which isn’t really much different because when I was single I’d send it out to have it done and folded. I’m 33 and will ruin laundry if given the chance.

I’ll do laundry any day what sucks is folding the shit. I’ll live out of a clean basket till Sunday and do it over again if I wasn’t married. When she disappears for 30 minutes and you know what she’s doing you have to time it just right to see if she needs help “once you relaized she’s folding” then fold ten articles to say you helped haha.
