Know the laws of the jurisdiction your working in!

So I’m at my full time job as a firefighter… On our way back from a call we spot a local power washing company filling up their tank they have mounted in their truck from the hydrant, without a meter… So my lieutenant decides to stop and make this a learning experience for the company, we try explaining to him why what he is doing is wrong and that he can’t just hook up to a hydrant without a meter, or at least a back flow preventer… He ends up having a huge attitude problem, and trys playing the " i dont speak english card" so we called our friends over at the cop shop… Long story short, this guy keeps up his game, and our cops weren’t having non of that, so they arrested him for theft, and towed his international box truck…
So lessons learned:
Use a meter when Hooking up to a hydrant / know the laws of the local jurisdiction your working in… however if you still feel the need to break the law - don’t be a dick when you get caught…
Or like our friend here you’ll end up with a $1,000.00 dollar tow, and a bail of $150.00

At least that’s how we roll round here…
