J-rod gets stuck

I need a bit of help. Today I finished hooking up my build. So today was the first time turning everything on. I had a few leaks but nothing major. The one thing I did had a problem with was my j-rod. It was hard locking it into the quick connect and hard trying to remove them. Why am I having this problem? Do I need to lubricant anything?

Nah. They can be sticky when new. She’ll wear in.

Ok. Thanks

Are you using cheap quick connects? Did you buy them on Amazon or big box store? Buy them from a legit pressure washing dealer. Nothing fits right in the cheap quick connects.

I purchased all of my parts from PWP.

Try changing the o-ring. They can swell when they get old.

You really need to find a legitimate vendor. PWP it far from being one.

Who do you recommend?

Either the store here or pressuretek if you don’t have a local vendor. Basically, about anyone that supports any org should be avoided.

I carry a can of silicone spray in the trailer just for that reason. Quick connects get sticky after a while.

I disagree but PWP is closest store to me, always awesome service. Heck I just texted Lori about some electric Titan reels and some parts today, on Sunday & she responded back in 10 minutes, had reels in stock and I’ll pick up in morning. That and prices are cheaper than elsewhere in my opinion and experience.

If you are texting vendors on a Sunday about a non emergency then you are a customer she should drop. PWP still sucks, regardless.

And why is that? I get the occasional customer calling on a sunday.

Press don’t answer. If they leave a message call then during the week. If they keep trying, block them.

If the plug gets stuck in a socket or as you mentioned your j-rod is hard to take out it is possible that small balls in the socket flared out the smooth notch part. I had that once happen to me on my lance gun, it went on but wouldn’t come off… Eventually I beat it off and found that high pressure and those small balls in the socket flared a bevel on the plug. Took a file to the plug while was waiting for replacement and it started going in and out without a problem.

Ditto, file down that sharp lip that develops. Also switch out the rubber o-ring for a viton one, and a hit of silicone spray doesn’t hurt either.
