Is my math correct?

Wow. I could not disagree more. 90% of the helpful content here comes from IBS, Patriot, Squid, Shertz, Nashville, and a half dozen other “old timers”. And yes some questions do get old. It’s been an issue as long as I’ve been here.

I think the best answer is to politely remind newbies to search before posting. If you want a forum without old-timers join any of the FB forums. They’re like watching a car wreck happen!

DITTO. …It’s a PW encyclopedia here guys ,in the palm of your hand ,24 /7, 365 ! What’s ta complain about. I’m a crazy truck washer and polisher and get a plethora of info on here. Even though it’s apples to lemons to the 3 different methods of pw trucks, commercial or residential. The machines, parts and trailer setups are similar. There is only a hand full of my pw type of folks on here, and I learn plenty . If your doing residential, you’ve struck gold here !

There are 3 active moderators here. @Steve, @squidskc, and myself. We are not big on censorship, but will step in when someone is being truly abusive or threatening. More often, we simply try and steer the conversation in a more positive direction, as opposed to “pulling rank”.

As has been mentioned by others, this community is very tame in comparison to many other forums and FB groups. People very rarely get vulgar or abusive here. There is plenty of blunt advice and some critical observations, but much of it can help steer newbies in the right direction and away from disasterous mistakes.

Yep. Sometimes it’s like swimming upstream trying to keep things upbeat. One reason I think there can be more “snarkiness” here than on say, WCR, is the high turnover in new “power washers”. Soo, soo many guys get a $400-$800 pressure washer and want to get started with 5 minutes of research. And it’s new guys every spring, asking the same basic questions. There’s just not nearly as many people picking up a squeegee and thinking they’re instantly a window cleaner.

I think a lot of the veterans try and focus on answering questions from those who might have a chance of actually succeeding in this business and being around next year. If you’re receiving serious advice from veterans, no matter how snarky it may sound, take it as a compliment that they believe you can succeed at this.

Very true. Before i had a Facebook i joined pressure washing friends on my wifes account and scrolled through it once. Honestly nothing but hack jobs and guys full of themselves. My wife still sends me funny pictures and fails from there. Atleast here people will try to help. You just have to read what others tell you here and make your own decisions.
Btw the turn buckles are working good for now until i have a platform made lol

Your figures are using 10 percent sh, not 12.5 percent like the op requested

By your theory 10 gallons of sh to 90 gallons of water is 1 percent regardless of using 6 %, 8.5%, 10%, or 12%. Its not by volume alone, you have to account for the percentage of sh.

Ok. It still works out the same. 1% would be 1.25% just take a gallon of sh out and add a gallon of water if you want it exact. After 13 yrs in the business I think I may know what I’m talking about.

well you dont know math.

No I don’t have to account for the percentage of either 10% or 12.5 %. My numbers work 100 % of the time.

Ok. Your right I don’t know math.
