Insurance quote

Just received my first insurance quote.
Gee, I didn’t think it was that expensive!

I might be out of a job before I even start!

There’s alternatives. Just search for “insurance” here in the forum.

I think Next and Verify are the cheapest although not necessarily the best value.

I have been searching and that’s where I found a few of the insurance providers.
I got a quote from Joseph D Walters. Seems like a good policy but ouch!
Just under $1,700 a year with half down. Wasn’t expecting it to be that high however, The plan is for commercial as well as residential properties.

Don’t know if that’s the average or not but wasn’t expecting it…

I’m gonna look into Next as well as Verify…
Thanks!

You could just get a 1 million dollar policy and stick to residential at first or until you get some hands on experience. Some insurance companies won’t even insure first year pressure washers so you’ll probably get it cheaper the second year in business.

Next and Verify are about $65 a month but I doubt they cover much. For my area Verify was a maximum of 10 months which seems strange to me.

I was thinking about that but with the businesses in my area and no other pressure washers within an hours drive in any direction, I figured it would be best to try and get the commercial properties in my area. Just trying not to miss out on any potential work because of my insurance…

You will not land commercial jobs without proper insurance so you either get good insurance or don’t get the jobs. Your choice. Depending where you live check Erie insurance (only available in a few select states)

I have a 2mil policy with next. Cost me $80 a month and I’m covered for pressure washing, roof cleaning and window cleaning. Residential and commercial. Not even the cost of an hours worth of work every month to cover your ■■■ as well as look professional is a no-brainer.

I just switched insurance coverage from Selective (through a local company) to Erie… i have paid $550-575 the last few years and when i almost needed them this past year they were just kind of helpful, were going to cover only a portion of what the cost was.

Lesson learn, i did more reading and asked more questions. With @Innocentbystander recommending Erie so highly i called them. Being able to deal with a local agent and talk to him without being bounced around or getting answers a few days later is kind of nice… i believe @SchertzServicesLLC has mentioned the value of having that connection (maybe im wrong), but ill be paying $940 a year and that is with adding more than double the coverage for Voluntary property damage.

Not to mention i can add snow removal for less than 1/4 of the cost it was going to cost with the previous company.

Go find a local company…

Unfortunately I had to drop my insurance company that I spoke so highly of. They would not meet the requirements of my Walmart contract. Only a few insurance companies in the country will. My new agent is amazing and I am covered very well. But he’s a few hours away.

Mine runs ~2500 a year. But that’s with insurance on the shop, truck, trailer and 2 million. It’s just part of it. I’ll be honest though atleast in my opinion I think it’s a great idea to just stick to residential the first year. There is way more money to be made washing houses then doing commercial work. Very few commercial jobs pay what you could make washing houses atleast until your company gets to any size. That’s just been my experience though. But I don’t work cheap. I’d rather go fishing.

Wow
Mine is 550, plus 300 for equipment.

This is also my first year in business. I want to say the auto policy is 1400 of that but I would have to look again.

Lol mines like $11,000 a year!
