Injector didn't last long

I only used my GP 2-4gpm injector a handful of times. I noticed it was rattling when I took it off my 4/4 machine, sure enough the little delicate spring inside was broken in half.

I now have a 5.5/3500 and hope the GP 3-5 included with the machine will pull like this one did. I’m just shocked this thing quit so soon, is this normal? Yes…I rinsed it after every job.

Mine normally last about 3 months…had one last year the lasted 6 months. I don’t know the brand, I get them from an in state supplier and they are great. When I get finished soaping for the job, I just drop the tube in the buffer tank while doing the final rinse and it rinses the injector while I am rinsing the home.

What goes bad on yours?

Who knows. I’ve only taken one apart once or twice in my life. Last time I spent 15 min looking for the spring I dropped. They’re $15. Now, I just throw them away if they quit pulling. Mine average about 4-5 months and I use a lot.

@Racer Same… mine last months, only recently had an issue with one but it was my own fault… as long as you rinse them out and use some type of screen filter on your chem tank hose/tubing, you wont get stuff coming thru your line clogging or getting in the actual injector. I use the little screens that go in garden hose connections to prevent that from happening. You gotta change them here and there tho because they get cruddy from the s.h. last year I used the same injector all season long doing these things. Just always keep spare injectors in the tool box or fitting box. They’re pretty inexpensive…

Order one of these. They also sell them in brass. I use a 1/2 in to 3/8 reducer on the hose reel swivel and don’t use quick connects. I have used the same one for yrs no problems. Comes with ceramic ball and stainless spring. I have 8 gpm and use the number four orfice and draw straight sh works flawlessly. It comes with four orfices u will want to use the number three for ur machine.

That’s pretty cool, when my current injector goes I’ll have to order one. Should I just stick with the standard SS Suds Sucker as I just DS straight 12%?

Here’s what’s left of mine after about a month. The spring broke.

Your not rinsing the DS properly my friend …

Apparently not!

The super suds sucker is nothing but a general pump injector in stainless. It draws no more or less.

BUT you forgot to say ,it costs 100% more.

I was buying them a dozen at a time back when they were $70 each. I convinced myself they were better because they cost so much. They lasted from a week to 6 months. Sound familiar? An ex employee told what they were and myself and another vendor put digital calipers to them. But they are purty, so there’s that.

Did the same my friend . Now its GP high draw from Bob. All day every day. $15 a pop

Yeah Southside sells them for $13, I’ll just pick up a few next time I’m there.

I bought one, worked for 3 hours literally. Put back in my parts box. Need to take apart and see what’s going on with it. For the price they are, don’t really want to just throw that one away, lol.

Some last 6 months, some 6 hours. I find the spring quality varies greatly. I keep 4 injectors at all time and two rebuild kits. I’m somewhat of a hoarder because I save a lot of the injectors to rebuild “one day”. They’re cheap and inconsistent. Keep several

I agree…they are cheap and I keep extras. when one stops working, I trash it and replace.

Have only used the SS one have had the same one for yrs. Got a new one for back up never had to use it. Got a peice of plastic stuck in the spring once other than that no problems. Same one for yrs I change the orfice at the beginning of every yr. But like mentioned I draw water and rinse it with a three way valve. They were a little over 50 bucks when I bought them and they do draw more. The brass would probably hold up good if u rinsed it after every job. Just my experience guess everyone can speak for themselves. That company has went up on all there prices since they were bought out. The only things I buy from them is the suds suckers injectors and 12 in insulated wands because hardly anyone else sells them. But these injectors are the best I’ve found and mine has worked flawlessly. JMO

Shame. All these high end parts and a $13 injector easily snaps a spring. Heck add another $3 and install a titanium spring or just redesign the whole darn thing.

Injectors are no problem…just keep extras on hand and replace. It is like changing oil…just part of the job.
