I think my mind is going Koo Koo

I’m new here, and I’ve been looking at the forums for days. I’m taking notes, memorizing, looking at pictures etc. I’m currently trying to speed up the process of washing houses, and I manage to do it well (Two houses a day) Full packages, windows, gutters, vinyl. Just finish my third year, and looking to find way’s to becoming more versatile. I never used SH, or other chemicals and i guess I think I’m doing good so far, but now it seems (By the forum) there is better ways. But my problem, is the environment side of the effect of the chemicals. Does that mean that i would need to cover plants? Do not price a house that there window edges are painted? Do I need to start explaining the customer why it smells like bleach? Am i going to need to wear a mask while applying the mix? I’m trying to put myself in the shoes of the customer looking at me inside with my mask … Is it going to give me more headache? I’m in Canada, Québec, and people are very strict, there flowers are there life almost, they hired people to garden there front and back lawn. lol …

Am i really going to save that much time? Dont get me wrong i'm only 32 year old, and yes most of the time I need to use the old elbow grease. Yes I do sometime need to clean gutters by hand. I dont know, I want to lean for the chemicals but do I want to deal with all the ‘’ Vice caché around it’’ In french. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and also i read that it can even leave some white spot on windows, does that mean more trouble for me washing the windows after?

Big thanks guys! I`m a bit KOO KOO Going crazy!

SH is the way to go. I use 2 gallons SH with 3 gallons water and 5 ounces of Elemonator. The Elemonator and other soaps help mask the sent of SH and keeps windows from spotting. As for plants, water them before, during, and after and you have no issues. I never mask up for house washes, just roof cleaning where you use way more SH. I would say on most houses I do 1800 to 2500 sq feet I don’t even use a whole 5 gallons of mix and that comes out to less than 2 gallons of SH per home.

I should also said, that i’m using a cold water pressure. 3500 psi and 3.8 gpm.

Thanks for your input, Some wrote that they mix SH with LC whats the difference? I was thinking of getting fat boy bandit sprayer for applying the chemicals. How do you apply it? Big thanks taking your time replying to me! Also, are we talking about softwash? Im use to power wash a house, if that can make a difference…

The fatboy is what I use for roof cleaning. You will want to stay with your pressure washer for house washes. Look into a j-rod with the correct tips, and you will downstream the chem or use a x-jet like me. Fatboy is not recommended for rinsing.

Thanks, im going to go search for that x-jet. Store bleach or pool supplier? Would be great if I have myself applying the product and my helper that follows me with the pressure wash. So that we are both working and making sure everything is safe (Plants etc )

wow, that x-jet is something else. Well, I’m going to order that! Big thanks for the tips guys.

Would you use the same mix, for decks, bricks? I also saw a guy clean gutters and im pretty sure hes using your mix, my jaw practically touch the ground when I saw him scrub with one hand, super easy and then uses a garden hose to rinse. I sadly sometime need to do it by hand and its can be very long.

Thanks

Same mix for almost everything but roofs. You can always tweak the recipe up or down depending on how dirty and how much mold. Also cold weather can need more SH. I use pool supply SH, as it is 12.5% and store is 10% around here. Also pool supply places tend to have fresher stock.
