I Loved Playing With Legos... and an Introduction

Thanks to everyone for all the input/advice/comments/etc. that they have contributed over the years. I have been busy reading/researching and I thought it was time for an introduction (Don’t worry, I’ll talk about LEGOs in a little bit - it goes with my introduction).

My name is Mike and I am the owner of Obsessive Cleaning Disorder, llc located in Cape May Court House, NJ. The business was created last year and we did house cleaning (general clean, thorough clean, rental turnovers, CCU). The website is http://www.OCDforme.com - it sucks with a capital UCKS - it’s near the top of my “Things To-Do IMMEDIATELY” list. I just kind of threw it together on day one and haven’t really touched it since. I’m not a huge fan of interior cleaning. My favorite service is the CCU (I know, I’m sick in the head) because of the “drastic transformation” effect - hence power washing. I have always enjoyed power washing my parents property and currently my own property. Guess what, I has doing it horribly wrong (can anyone say red tip - not really red, but a lot of yellow). Also, I had no idea what SH was (or anything else for that matter). However, I never did it for money so I’m not too embarrassed to admit that.

Anyway, I plan to weed myself out of the house cleaning (by training a few current employees to take over as team leaders) and start the power washing side of the business. Thanks to @Racer I have ordered a 6gpm 3500psi (both approximate) gear drive power washer that I am anxiously awaiting delivery on. I will be purchasing a used 14’ Uhaul box truck in the next week or so for my set-up. Thanks @Clean_Blue for pointing out the truck/trailer parking issues on the islands - I know a box truck isn’t that much better, but that’s what I’m gonna go with. I realize going smaller is an option (pick-up with full size bed or flat bed) but I don’t have a garage for storage so I want to keep it as safe as possible. Also, I’d like the final set-up to include 2 PWers (an additional belt drive 8gpm 3500psi), 12v system, and a pure water system. This is another reason for the larger vehicle.

So, I need everything else - which is a lot - but thanks to all you guys I have a good list of where to start. And then I was thinking, “How is all of this going to be organized (optimized) into the truck?” And, this got me thinking about playing with LEGOs when I was a kid…

I hope my photo uploaded

Here’s a little Q&A session (it helps describe the type of person I am):
Q: What’s the full sheet of paper with the rectangle drawn on it?
A: That’s the bed (top view) of the box truck - drawn to scale of course (1 cube = 2"x2").
Q: What’s all those little pieces of paper?
A: That’s the various equipment/components (top view) of the possible stuff that will go into my box truck - again, to scale. PWer frame, buffer tank, chemical tanks, different size hose reels, etc.
Q: What are all those little 6x6 cubes?
A: Aren’t you paying attention? They are obviously 5 gallon buckets. GEEZ??!?
Q: How much time did you waste doing that?
A: Zero minutes - I believe it will be gained time/saved money/less frustration/etc. when it comes time to physically install the items in the truck.
Q: Did you HAVE to cut everything out with a utility knife and ruler?
A: Hi - I don’t think we’ve met - my name is OCDmike

Hope you had as much fun reading this as I’m gonna have playing with my LEGOs

P.S. After reading all his posts, I can totally see @squidskc doing this. Am I right?

Welcome. I’m new here too and will be starting a trailer build too. It sounds like you know what you want. Already having a business background will help you big time!

Actually, he would probably sub out the cutting of the legos and somehow market it to where he made money out of the deal.

Funny enough, I sketched this out last year and took it and the Tundra to a local fab shop to get an estimate on a custom rack putting the machines and reels up on the bed rails and fuel tanks under a “false” bed so I could still utilize the bed.

Go vertical with racks and use overhead space if you can. Racer’s reels are mounted to his Ladder racks.
