Hy-conn garden hose quick connector

Any difference between Gator, Banjo, or other brands. Thanks!

Gator and banjos don’t seal well together so you have to stick with same brand. As long as you get the same brand they’re all glass filled polypropylene with foam rubber seals. Same materials. Different molds.

It takes less than 1 min to flush 200’ of hose. You let it flush while you’re rolling up.

This probably sounds like a rookie question because it is. How can you flush it while you are rolling it up? If you are on the reel how can you be on the trigger as well? If you run fresh water thru 200’ of hose what do you do with what’s in the hose? If I’m putting the mix that’s in the hose back in the tank, I can’t see when the mix turns to water. Im not sure if this makes a difference but I’m using a 55gal blue poly drum.

I’m also using the cheapest kit/pump available from PT. If it loses prime it takes a good 10 minutes to get it back going.

I’m having a hard time picturing this unless you are talking about flushing the pump only with a three way valve on the discharge line.

I don’t have any insight on your other questions, but if you put a camlock fitting before your pump and reel, you can disconnect that to prime the pump and it’ll make the pump much more compliant.

My wfp pump would never achieve prime trying to push through 200+ feet of wfp hose. But I disconnect the quick connect, and it’ll prime in 10 seconds.

Ball valve…( 1/2 with a 1/2 to 3/8 reducer…then Your quick connect) get rid of that trigger gun. I’ve been using a $4 pvc ball valve for months now and no
Issues. Ive been meaning to order a sch 80 one but forget all about it.

Put the ball valve in your roof mix tank…put the draw tube in your buffer tank. Turn on and roll up.

It works well

After you switch your intake on pump to water, You put your nozzle in your mix tank for 20 seconds or how ever long it takes to clear your hose, then just lay it in the gutter while you finish rolling it up. you should already know how long it takes to clear your hose. Miy 280 ft takes about 30 seconds…

There’s not a pump made that takes 10min to prime unless something is not hooked up right. I have 6 different 12v pumps and they all prime within 10 -15 seconds.

Makes sense. I need to time it initially, then use the time from there on out. Any differential from battery charge or human error will be negligible. A bit of fresh water back in the tank or still in the hose shouldn’t make a difference. Seems like common sense now that you explained it.

Do you have your fresh water plumbed or do you just pull from a bucket or other source?

Thanks for this. My trigger has been leaking for a while. I’ve been using a 1/4 plug. I’ll be buying this stuff over the weekend if not sooner.

If you have the poly gun you already have the reducer and the quick connect. A $4 ball valve (pvc). Or a $20 SCH 80 ball valve and your in business

I run a proportioner, I just switch off my SH valve. On my transfer pump I just put drop stick in 5 gal bucket of water to rinse pump

Baby steps. I’m not at the point of proportioners just yet. But I’m sure enjoying this new trailer and machine. It’s time for me to stop spending and start saving again. My wishlist is continually growing.

Me too. After this week that’s going to be my main objective. My trailer will pretty much be set up the way we want it. Everything is coming off next Tuesday and I’ll coat the floor then when everything gets here I’ll play catch-up.
