How would you clean/price this?

I usually go straight to 12% on limestone lol usually 2 applications and rinse with about 1000 psi. Should quote cleaning windows too they will need it or keep them rinsed very well

Thanks for the input, I don’t want to be the most expensive but I also don’t want to be the cheapest, right in the middle  it’s really hard for me to accurately quote this because I’ve only ever down-streamed houses lol

I just looked, they have in stock here now too! They never have it this early, I better go stock up. They raised the price though, it was $3.99 for the past 5 years

Network!! Call some of your local or semi-local competition, roof cleaners specifically will know where to buy in bulk. Be upfront and honest with them about what you are looking for. There isnt really any competitive advantage in keeping your supplier a secret and it could be bad karma not to share.

Alternatively think bigger,

Look for chemical supply or manufacturing or industrial supply. My supplier’s biggest customer is the water treatment plant causing them to go through about 8,000 gallons of fresh bleach a week. Im surprised they even sell to us pressure washers to be honest but i believe the yard guys actually really enjoy helping us out. They even get their refrigerator stocked with gatorade from time to time.

Should be able to find someone that knows where to get a hold of hundreds of gallons of fresh bleach.

Please tell us why…there’s no harm in that.

If I land this job, it’ll generate way more money than the job itself. I just started my pressure washing business last fall. If I land this, I will automatically gain the trust of the community as a reputable and quality business (which can greatly help my business grow). After I get a contract signed I’ll tell what kind of place it is then it may make more sense lol, sorry for the discretion (I’ve seen local competition here on this site  ).
I don’t even have a soft wash setup yet lol so right now I’m trailer hunting, then getting it fully wrapped so its a giant billboard on wheels. Most likely going with a 6x12 enclosed with barn doors should be big enough, I want a single axle; I have a 7x16 tandem for my landscape business and I have to get new tires every year :frowning:

Thank you for the solid advice, 8,000 gallons a week is insane lol
I know fresh bleach is a must so tomorrow I’m making some calls

Great tip! I actually do wash windows weekly for my wife’s cleaning business lol, I already have everything I need to do the job! The extra money skipped my mind

12% is super hot lol I wonder if that works at the same efficiency, I mean if it cuts my application time down in half, seems worth it to me.

That’s what I keep hearing, but if kept well my guys don’t notice a difference until at least 3-4 months…and when I have it that old it’s always early season and like 50 degrees for a high temp

Don’t take this as actual advice, I’m just tiny taters around here but this is how I price jobs…

  1. Quote a high enough price so that you’ll be happy to handle the job with a big smile.
  2. Quote a low enough price so you’re not kicking yourself in the noggin for losing a job you would have been happy to do for a few dollars less.
  3. Don’t quote anything you’re not prepared to deliver.

I missed one:
4. A bottle of Windex & a roll of paper towels doesn’t make you a window cleaner haha.

Haha, no I clean big glass windows at an office, 15x8, maybe about 30 of them lol. I’d shoot myself if I was doing that with Windex and paper towels
That’d be some Mr. Miyag training

I love your logic, makes perfect sense, and using that I’ve found my final price!!

2899.99 for top
4799.99 for whole building
I believe at these prices, I’ll make a good profit <3
Alright editing this, lol I don’t want to bid to high and lose it!
2699.99 for top and
4699.99 for whole building, not including the efflo

We’ll see what happens

Thank you all for the solid advice! You’ve all been such a great help!

I have 8 gallons in my no heat storage unit from November, only dipped down to 0 degrees one time this year, I read the cold doesn’t degrade it but heat does. You think its still at least half strength? Or is it just junk at that point, I’ll probably have to test to see

Here’s a little more logic… if you’re inexperienced, that’s not a great job to learn on. I made buddies with a local guy that takes on big jobs like this all the time. I send him the ones I’d rather not get caught up in & he sends me the easy ones he can’t get to. It’s a win / win.

Progress always involves risk
Although this is a calculated risk
I feel confident I can do this job correctly.
Plus forces me to get my softwash setup up and running.
I do appreciate your care and concern, very kind of you! but I got this 100%

forget the 99s, and definitely the cents. If you want to play the mental thing, go like 2890, it feels less contrived and random like you actually figured up quantities and such. And send them the price before you lower it 3 more times

Only way to know the actual strength on that SH is to test it, but find something green and figure out how much you have to dilute it to turn it in about a 5 minute dwell…that will tell you roughly what it is (which is really all you need to know). Just know if you reload you’ll want to tone it down a bit obviously.

Then he’d be leaving 9 dollars on the table. I’d take the extra 9 dollars & go to Taco Bell if I wasn’t too busy turning down the job.

Then just make it 2900 and get extra cinnamon twists…rather than insult their intelligence ending something in xx9.99 :joy:

2999.99 & you could buy tacos for the whole crew. Or we could just meet in the middle at 29,888 like the car lots & buy tacos for the whole forum. All we’re missing is a no credit, slow credit, bad credit finance guy & we’re off to the races.
