House wash quoting

To anyone…when yall give a quote for a house are yall including the driveway flatwork or is that a extra upsell or does it depend on your area market

Itemized quotes will do the trick.

Typically I quote the house as requested and also include on a separate line the cost for the driveway / sidewalk if one is present. Sometimes they need to dwell on it for a bit to realize that if the house siding is clean why not also get the driveway washed too. Doesn’t always work, but it’s a upsell options without me being pushy.

I usually give an estimate for anything I see that needs cleaning, regardless of what they asked for. It works and nobody has ever been offended that I included more on the estimate than they asked for.

But to answer your question, concrete is a completely separate service.

I have learned to bid everything by how long it should take me from pull up to go home. I do not bid over the phone, but I also don’t do this full time. I am picky and expensive for my area. I too let them know there is “just a house wash” and Full House Service that includes driveway and walkways. I don’t like gutter brightening but have offered on easier jobs. I cant wait to have my roof wash system done so I can add that upgrade as well. My goal is to lock in all services so I don’t have to travel to more than one job a day.

Exactly. From my limited experience concrete tends to cost more than the standard housewash. I usually point out their filthy concrete and say, “at some point your walkways could use a good cleaning” and most of the time they either want it done or ask for a price.

That’s why I charge .25 sqft.

On my quotes, I go by square footage and I have separate services “itemized” like others have said. House wash, roof wash, driveway/concrete, & deck. If you’re just doing a house wash, the driveways and flat work should probably be a separate charge not included.
I usually only quote a customer on what they ask for because of the potential sticker shock for some folks. But I have also made an infographic flyer that describes each service with before/after photos that I send with the quote so that the customer knows what they are paying for specifically but also to show what else we can do for them.
