He is a fraud. If someone believes in global warming, that’s a good indicator they are uneducated or trying to pull a fast one on someone

i would ask them to take a vinegar soaked rag and leave it sit in a discreet spot for a few hours. Vinegar should remove surface rust. If it is below the sealant, you then have your answer that you did not cause it.
