Help decide on new pressure washer!

Alright, I don’t want to beat a dead horse here, but I’m in the market for a new pressure washer. Been doing more and more pressure washing jobs and the one I currently have is on it’s last leg.

Now, the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on one of the 2 below, is direct drive or belt driven? There is over a 50% price difference between the 2, and I’m not quite sure it’s worth it. Any suggestions? I’ve never had issues with my current direct drive unit, the pump has lasted the entire time.

Here are the units I’m considering:

Direct drive:

Belt driven:

I want to begin pursuing this add-on more seriously, and aside from adequate equipment it’s time to start fully educating myself on methods, chemicals, etc. I sort of have an obsessive personally when it comes to learning new things, I want to be the best at what I do, so I’m stressed until I feel beyond confident in any job that may arise. Anyways, I’ll keep the learning questions to another thread.

who are you and where are you from?

Check out they are one of the sponsors here. At a minimum you want a belt drive 4 gpm pressure washer.

It really depends on what type of work you do. I would go with a belt drive unit, min. 3000psi-8gpm-115volt burner- min 27hp. don’t cheap n up. You will be sorry later when you get the larger jobs and you spend all day when it could have been a half day job. You can’t go wrong with the following companies: Hydro-Tek, Enviro Spec, Hydro Max. Enviro Spec has a great price on a 3000psi-8gpm-30hp kolher-115volt skid. $6400.00, plus assecc. delivered. Hydo Max: 3600psi-8.5gpm-115volt-27hp Kolher, all stainless steel: $7450.00 delivered. Good luck.
