Got mine yesterday. That air cutoff tool for $10 seems like a headache waiting to happen.

I’m gonna build an 8 gpm with a predator engine. Waiting till Jan. 1st to start. I already maxed spending for 2019. I’m sure Horrible Freight sales will be done by then.

They normally don’t have many of the good coupons for predator items. I’ve tried lol

Aren’t you running a 22 hp predator?

@SchertzServicesLLC what sort of hours do you expect out of the Chinese v-twins? I understand you run one? Any regrets? Reliability issues so far? Things you like and dislike?l about them?

@SchertzServicesLLC give us a deep down review of one, from a pressure washers point of view, most reviews I’ve read are used for things that don’t do many hours so I take them onboard with a grain of salt.

Yes I run the 22 Hp with a gear drive udor 8 gpm

Pros
It never lacks the power needed.
Price.
Availability if it does blow up.

Cons.
Weak stock fuel pump (replace with Briggs and Stratton)
Have to pull choke every time you start it. (Even when warmed up)
The crap you take on here for running one :joy:
No hour/ tach meter ($25 on Amazon)

Would I build or buy another? Absolutely! I plan on it this spring!

I forget the hours on mine currently but it has 150 ish more than the hour meter shows. I think it’s around 700 hours.

With regular maintenance I don’t see why you couldn’t get 2-3k hours out of it or more.

If it did blow up, how long would it take you to swap it out. Could you just drop by a HF and have them swap you one out if it was still under warranty

Depends how hard the pump slides off the shaft. 30 minutes or an hour I would guess. I don’t know the return process but I believe they make you call a hotline and get a “repair code” and take that to the store for an exchange. If mine blew up and was under warranty I’d just go buy another and get back to work. Then on an off day do the exchange process and have the new one as a backup.

I was considering using the 14 hp predator on a 5 or 5.5 udor gear drive. Im just kicking around ideas right now. Only thing really certain is it will be an udor pump. Thanks for the info. If it does die let us know

@12_B at $660 each I wouldn’t hesitate to have a spare sitting at home should one spit the dummy. Just to be able to keep washing the next day if anything did go wrong.

Only thing about the smaller one is having to fill the fuel tank a lot or removing the tank and plumbing in a big tank.

Never heard this expression but i thought it was funny

Unless you are buying like a 2,000 psi pump you won’t want the 14hp.

5.5x3500psi/1100=17.5 Hp needed

@SchertzServicesLLC thanks for the insight :ok_hand:

I get the formulas…but I can promise everyone I run two predator 14hp with 5.6 gpm and 1 @ 7 gpm. All of them can clean residential concrete easily with the whisper 16 in 25025. Maybe the trick is bypassing so much water that it’s really not putting out those gpm, but I was worried at first when building them but no issues.

No they won’t have an issue running the psi. Just not the gpm and psi at the same time. You must be bypassing enough with the unloader to not stall the motor.
