To be fair, your situation is pretty bonkers, for lack of a better word, so i think there is a little leeway that can be given to the reactions.
I had wondered the same thing about your situation… why a guy that probably doesn’t need money, seemed so motivated to start a business in part to crush a hard working blue collar guys’ business. Little did we know the guy you want to crush is another guy that probably doesn’t need the money just doing it to pass the time, i guess. Lol. That’s some ‘if it was in a movie, no one would believe it’ stuff right there. Asking people to donate to charity instead of paying you, makes it even more bonkers.
Put yourself in our shoes and consider how it sounds. It makes sense now, but prior to the explanation it was pretty odd (still odd, just in a different way). No harm, no foul, IMO.
Also, I think you and IB should go fishing together.
So anyway… about your daughters number…
(That’s the last joke i will make about that, couldn’t resist. Hah )
I’m not particularly religious, but I don’t think his pretentious comments about my 5% making me or my business less “noble” were very Christian.
Especially after lecturing Will about judgement. I get along with most folks, but religious folks who talk out of both sides of their mouth aren’t the type I prefer to fish with. Glad you didn’t lump me in there.
I try my best to help with most things but my mentors and friends here have all said pretty nice things about their wives which respect. His comment about his wife was maybe the third, definitely the second I had seen.
That was the point I should’ve tapped out and said no more.
Yeah, he lectured him about judgement, but at the same time, IB called him a crappy human being. I think both their comments are understandable, considering the context.
I didn’t get that he was implying that your charity donations made you less noble, but perhaps i didnt understand what he was saying. I give most people a pass when they joke about their wives being a battleaxe. I would imagine that Rodney Dangerfield and his wife got along pretty good, despite all of those zingers.
One thing we can all agree on, is that xl8rtion lives in Bonkersville. I bet their HOA meetings are a sight to behold.
@tireshark here. He’s saying he does 95% for others and I only do 5%.
Maybe those of us with girlfriends/wives who are pretty kick ■■■ got really lucky. My old lady is ex-Army deals with my man child ways like an old pro. She’s picking up pizza for me on her way home today. I’ll keep her.
I took that as a general statement on charity, saying that if someone keeps 95% for themselves, they are giving 5% to others. I didn’t take it that he was comparing what he gives to what you give, because i doubt he gives 95% of his income to charity.
Honestly, i think it’s worded poorly, because it’s hard to understand what he meant. If his intention was to slight you, then i’ll throw the first two eggs.
Crazy. I thought I was the only one that used exact minutes. My wife rolls her eyes when i say i want to leave in 16 minutes or that I’m getting uo at 0334
I got a pair of bifocals but I haven’t brought myself to wear them enough to be comfortable with them. My wife showed me how to make the words bigger on my phone so that works for me.
I can’t get used to moving just my eyes and not my while head. I have a pair of glasses with uncorrected lenses in the right side for deer hunting. I can see with my left eye corrected but don’t get annoyed when looking down the scope. Adapt
Maintain flexibility.
For those who are curious about United hose’s cost
It’s $252.24 for 225 foot grey non marking 3/8" hose. So if you’re not a millionaire trying to pinch charitable pennies, but you’re running an less than noble, selfish business that’s a pretty darn good price.
