Garage doors

Hello everyone, I am new here and new to the industry. I recently took a job cleaning bay doors at a local automotive shop. When I got out there my pressure washer was not getting all the years of dirt and grease off the doors. I obviously need to use chemicals. I went and bought some super clean from Walmart but that doesn’t seem to be doing the trick either. I was wondering if there are chemicals anyone could recommend to get this job done. I appreciate the feedback in advance.

Go find easier stuff to wash.

Wow, thanks. Really helpful

Not trying to be an ■■■■■■■. You said when you got there your pressure washer wasn’t working on years of oil and grease in an automotive shop. .

Totally get that, I avoid jobs like that.

I’m guessing you don’t have heat. That’s a necessity for the job you signed up for. It’s an investment that for me, hasn’t really paid off.

IMO you’re going to be better off checking out from that job and moving to the next.

You got a pic. Hard to guess with what you’re dealing with.

While I appreciate the input, there’s other ways you could have gone about it for sure. Moving past that I do not give up and I will get this. I am not going to just give up on a job. Can easily go rent a washer that has heat which is definitely an idea. I read up on simple green which may help and with the addition of heat may do the trick

I can definitely get one. Don’t have any at this moment

Always post a pic when you’re having trouble with a job, then if we can help, we won’t be guessing

People here can definitely help…the reason many will say walk is because you’ll almost never be able to charge a price that will actually make it worth your while. If ego gets involved (“I can clean anything”, then it tends to become more of an expensive hobby. If it’s a business for profit, stick mostly to the stuff that gives you a solid return.

Definitely get that and will obviously be the key to making money, however in the early staging while making a name for myself it is important to also make sure that the word getting out about me is a positive one and not negative. I expect these types of things to happen from time to time as I learn and evolve. Definitely will learn as I go and not make the same mistakes twice

You’re 100% correct, but your name will also be associated with the types of jobs you’ve done, and some things you just don’t want to be tied to in the end…or someone else in the area is better equipped/suited to do a particular job, so pass it off.
