First trailer build

Hey guys, I’m looking into putting together my first rig. I’ve been reading and watching videos as much as I can. I see a lot of newbies here get eaten alive with repetitive questions lol so I’ve worn that search bar out. I was recommended Landa as far as the PW from a family friend. I visited my local dealer and I’m okay with the price for a 4.7 @ 3500 hot water unit. They would build the trailer (I’d personally rather pay the money to have it set up how it should be initially lol). I know the biggest baddest machine will not be needed starting out, but I’d like to set myself up with a happy medium between beginner and something that will continue to be efficient as I continue. I’d like to know if you guys have any suggestions/recommendations on other PW’s and where to buy from. My quote had the Landa at $9,300 and I know they tend to be more expensive.

What do you anticipate using the hot water for?

I’ve yet to need hot water…but Inalsk stay away from large commercial flat work. Save your $$ and get a cold water 8gpm

Landa is good stuff. You don’t need hot water unless you are cleaning a lot of concrete. Cleaning a lot of concrete needs more than 4.7 gpm. Don’t know what you will be doing, but if it’s just houses and buildings get a 8 gpm at 3kpsi for round 4k.

I appreciate the feedback guys! I’ve been thinking the same thing towards the hot vs cold. And I agree that I think a better buy would be the more GPM, cold route. The hot water aspect was one of my “happy medium” thoughts. If I had picked up some work where that would be necessary, I would have that tool in my arsenal. Initially I plan to do fences, houses, and driveways. As I get the hang of it, I’d love to pick up any work that I feel I can do. Maybe fleet and/or commercial jobs like gas station parking lots? That may sound ignorant lol just trying to decide what would be more beneficial

It’s cheaper to add a burner to an 8gpm then to upgrade from 4.7 to 8 gpm (and you’d need a new burner anyway)

Landa is a great machine but you can get a great 8gpm machine like hydrotek or water dragon for a good bit less and spend the difference on marketing. Like others have said if you’re not doing commercial concrete you can get by without hot water. Me personally, I wouldn’t want just a cold water machine simply because I hate to tell a customer I am not equipped to do the job. With that said I like doing concrete. Another thing to think about is during the winter when residential slows down monthly and biweekly commercial accounts can keep food on the table. To me that’s why hot water is a good investment

I think he same… I went with a happy middle 5gpm and hot water. Also, today we did a house wash and back patio the client wanted us to clean under the portable bbq… No way in hell cold water would have removed all the grease off the floor! Felt good to turn that heater on and melt it away
