Plasma cutters and chemicals are probably good things to read up on. That and anything from Ikea. Ill never order any thing from them again. I used up a whole Saturday putting my daughter’s bedroom together. For the few hundred I “saved” I could have just bought from Sears and had them put it together for me.it was a couple hundred bucks difference. If I ever worked 8 hours and only made $300 I’d be really upset with my self. But I figured " how hard can it be." Lesson learned…

You’re a better man than I. I wanted to get good at windows, but I gave up on trying to be fast enough that it was a truly profitable venture for me. I think I make more money on windows subbing it out.

You’re also a better man than I. Emma explained IKEA in a way that made it sound like they shuttle you through in a corral and you’re basically stuck until the end.

That makes my skin crawl.

Smaller markets need more versatility, plus I think its my “window” into commercial domination :joy:!
I’m trying to get sarah to learn how to do windows so she can quit her job and run the show full time!

She’s pretty much got it right. It was a nightmare. Ill never buy anything from them again.

As far as windows go youre on the right track. If you wash houses for a living there’s no way you’ll ever be happy cleaning windows. It’s way more labor intensive and worth about half what you’ll bring in washing. I started as a window cleaner so its a little different for me but since I really got into pressure washing I hate windows. I basically have two businesses now. I send my guys to do windows 2-4 days a week and I wash either solo or with help 2-4 days a week. I used to work more but lately I’m trying to focus on the bigger stuff and not use up all of my self doing labor.

If I would have been smarter and more educated ( and less desperate for money) I would have started a pressure washing business that also cleans EXTERIOR windows as opposed to a window cleaning company that also does exterior cleaning. The windows are a nice steady repeat income stream though. Even though it doesn’t compare when you look at hourly income for window cleaning vs pressure washing windows need to be cleaned more often so you’ll usually see the client a few times a year.
