Employee checklists

You might as well send em home with some homework, maybe a virtual recap over Skype before hot chocolate and bed time.

Dang guys give him some slack lol this is a place to learn. I think checklists are a great idea I am putting some together for next year but they are pretty simple and mostly just reminders to check or do that employees often forget.

Big difference between a check list and a micro managing paper pusher

keep in mind this checklist is for brand new employees. My idea is to go through all of the points with the new hire as he does his first house wash, then on the next job I can see how closely he can replicate it, checking off each point as he does the house wash. Once he can replicate the procedures over and over, he’s ready to do house washing on his own, repeat the process with roofs, gutters, windows ect

I think the document shared above would be a great training document, but something more concise would be better for every day on the job. It took me probably 5 minutes to read through this document and I wasn’t trying to do everything as I read. You want something they can glance at quickly and check things off just as quickly. 1-2 sentences per bullet point max, IMO.

Kudos for going the extra mile to help your employees learn though! I know it benefits you just as much, but nice to see an employer (in any industry) that treats its employees well.
