EDDM Marketing

I’d like to know more about EDDM marketing.

  1. Those who are doing eddm are you guys targeting a specific audience? Or just by city?

  2. If I want to target a certain demographic in a particular city, based on income, where do I buy addresses?

Help

It’s a service provided by the usps. I havent used it personally but one of the big lawn care/chemical sprayers locally uses them as his only form of advertisement. His ads are very basic just a few before and after and a little bit of info on his business. I’ve asked him about the ROI and he couldn’t tell me exact numbers but tells me he gets new business every year from them.

USPS’s website will get you pointed in the right direction. If you want to target an exact neighborhood you can browse through the USPS’s EDDM site and find the exact route that mail carrier takes, how many houses are on that route, and what other neighborhoods they run through.

Got it!

I’m excited to give this a shot, come spring.

Is there a good company for EDDM post card printing on line.? Or is Local best?

Sal , make sure the route doesn’t have lots of rental apartments

I like it but feel like better money can be spent on AdWords or Facebook.

I use eddm for areas I really want to grow and focus on though and try to do a small area couple times a year.

@Molski if you don’t mind me asking, how many posts cards are you sending out per drop?

@Chesebro usually 5-10k

@Chesebro I am with the print department at the WCR. We print EDDM postcards, as well as offer a full service option where we do the print and mailing for you. The print prices can be found here:

I can give you full service pricing directly if you are interested.
We have a variety of templates that are editable as well as an edit service if you are in need of artwork.

The USPS tool on their website will help you figure out exactly how many people are in the routes you are targeting and give you an idea of how many cards to print. You can order in bulk and send them out in waves to save money on the print cost, or you can print a small quantity to start and hit one or two routes.

Let me know if you would like more information! You can email me at printing@windowcleaningresource.com. Good luck!

A lot of people that are using eddm and failing (the ones who hate it) are the same people that by 10k pieces and send them all to different routes. I notice a better return when I sent them every couple of weeks to the same routes. This helps with getting multiple touches to the same potential client.
