Ds Injector built in or no? And a few other questions

Hey guys I currently have this unit and I would like to know if anyone can tell me whether or not it has a built in ds injector?https://simpsoncleaning.com/products/simpson-msh31025ht/

If not, I’m looking into buying this one.

Gun
What do you all recommend for a gun? I’ve seen a few different units discussed on here but what is the best? The one that came with my unit is bulky and I would like to have a gun where I can choose a more precise wand extension length. My current gun has about a foot of plastic before the wand even connects. Looking for something a little more low profile.

Hose
My current hose is 3/8”. Is it possible to upgrade to a 5/8”?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Get the GP injector, Suttner 2315 gun and stick with 3/8” pressure hose.

You’ll need to plug the stock injector.

Easy there @dcbrock lets start with engine and pump combo first lol. If this is for business use or potential business use your wasting your time with that machine. It’s home owner grade, no good. The GX series is what you are after.

At least you didn’t call me bubby lol.

I’ve owned the machine for a year and have only used it for personal use. I’m considering looking into the business but not 100% sure yet. I do like the concept of soft washing for my own house though so I’m looking for information based on personal use at the moment.

I’m sure it would work for around the house doing bits and pieces, those GC engines aren’t really designed for heavy use witch could work for you. If you see yourself getting into the business I would off the bat just buy a 4gpm Honda unit now, it will be the last pressure washer you ever buy for personal use around the house.

Thanks for the input. I also prefer ds to avoid ruining my pump. If I do upgrade to a 4gpm unit, I still want to keep this unit. @dcbrock how do you cap the stock injector?

If/when you see M22 connections, dont consider it a good investment.

I have been fortunate enough to not have to cap off my original injector and still see strong enough chemicals pull through the new injector. I’ve just simply left the old barb in place and installed the GP Hi Draw injector with quick connects right after it. Other, wiser, more experienced individuals have suggested to try and either remove the barb itself with a wrench and install a short threaded bolt in its place, or just simply place something like tape over the end.

Looking at your pictures, what’s the difference in the GP injector being installed and the original injector? How is the GP avoiding going through your pump?

The GP is after the pump, and actually the original one is on the exiting side of the pump as well. The GP is a better metered injector, drawing a more consistent / accurate rate than the original. If the GP fails, most guys will carry a spare on the truck and replace it on the spot. I just as easily could pull the GP off and utilize the original injector to finish up a job if I had to. I only do a few jobs a week, so if I have to order a replacement it’ll likely be in within 2-3 days and it isn’t crucial as it is for someone who has several houses each day.

So your original is set up for down streaming as well?

Yes sir.

Now when I first started in 2018, I discovered my stock injector had some weird thread type and advised me to leave it on and use a GO after it. They did point out the restrictive orifice needed to be taken out which helped tremendously with GPM.

@dcbrock The restricted orifice where?

Inside the stock injector.
