Driveway and house pricing

Whether you’re low or not really depends on your market. For example, down here in FL I get SH for .79 a gallon and there are 4 million other power washing companies. I’d never get any work if I charged what some guys in here charge.

79 cents a gallon? I’ll make the drive from MI for that price

I’m in Florida and cant get anywhere near that price. What part of Florida are you in?

Sarasota. As far as I know, the pool supply store I get SH from is the only one selling at that price. The next lowest I’m aware of is (or was, anyway) around a dollar. A couple of places it goes for 1.30 or so. I don’t think .79 is the norm.

Can I use it on paver patios??

Oh nice I’m born and raised in Port Charlotte. Live down in Cape Coral now. The best deal I’m finding is 2.05 a gallon. And that’s for 10.5%! Robbery over here.

Im not going to complain about the 3.00/gal Im paying but it would be nice to get that Florida rate for it. Not the Fl rate for a house wash though

Oh ya I’m doing single story house washes at $249. And that’s for stucco.

I wont touch a single story anything for that. Much less stucco.

I’m not sure if I could charge that much or not, never tried. Most of the work I do is in gated communities with HOAs so typically the homes I’m washing aren’t very dirty at all. 249 would be robbery in many cases, at least in my mind. I don’t think I’d feel right getting $200+ for an hour of work. More power to you if you can get it though.

I want to contact hoas and condo associations. Any recommendations on how to best tackle it?

I wish I knew. I didn’t mean to imply I work with HOAs regularly, I just meant that most of my customers happen to live in those communities. The times I have worked directly with an HOA were a result of a customer being on the board or knowing a board member and being contacted that way.

Ohhh. Alright well we’ll see what happens when I go talk to them lol.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with making $200 an hour. If you’re providing value for your customer and can get that price then why not? If someone asks if I wanna work for 50 an hour or 200 I’m choosing 200 all day.

If I take 2 hours and charge 400 and you take 4 and charge 400 for the exact same job are one of us screwing the customer? Nope. Im just making twice the money you made per hour.

Plus when you figure in all the hidden costs of operating a business you go from 400 back down to 200. If you start at 200 you make nothing in the long run by the time you pay taxes insurance maintenance on your truck that you’ll eventually have to replace and the same for the equipment. Profit is not a dirty word.

Yup. Take a 400 house wash. You have 1 hr total of driving back and forth and now you blew a 50’ section of hose while on the job. lol. Not 200/hr any more lol

Thats why i dont post about $$$$
