Down stream

Okay when using a downstream injection and you have concentrated soap do you mix the soap to manufacturers instructions or do you siphon the actual concentrate

You mix and put out based on the gpm you are sucking from your chemical tank.

If you want 1% sh and you have a 10 to 1 injector and your bleach is 10%sh then you are shooting 1%sh and 99% water.

You are over complicating things, buy and x jet, remove the black thing that limited the chemicals and fill a 5 gallon bucket with 4 walmart bleach and one water.

Ill check on xjet, but what if I have 10 to 1 injector and recipe calls for 1 part cleaner and 6 part water @awesomewash2

Would I have multiple injector sizes

Just add bleach to the mix until u get results… im not smart enough to do %s. I know i have to add more bleach when it gets cold compared to dead of summer. I know i need more bleach if its brick.

Just do your searching and reading… anything that @Racer @squidskc @Innocentbystander (wherever he has gone) say will be helpful… there are lots of other folks here as well that have shared/will share their knowledge.

Just keep reading man… once you start getting out there with the equipment you will learn from mistakes and you will then know what u need to do differently. Go rent a machine for a few weekends and do friends and family’s houses and whatnot… then you will know what ya need… i know your looking at hot water, but you might find that you dont care for that work… if you do, maybe its worth a larger cold water machine and then rent hot water as needed until it pays for a hot box.

@Codysmith5345 seriously, buy an xjet. I just bought mine and it is phenomenal. As for determining strength and percentages, the following is the calculation that I have been using:

Strength of SH x percentage in bucket = total strength percentage

Total strength percentage / injector ratio = final amount of surface

Example #1: 10%sh * 100% in bucket (meaning you haven’t diluted it) = 10

10%/10 (if your injector is 10:1) = 1% on surface.

Example #2: 10%sh * 60% in bucket (3 gal sh & 2 gal water) = 6

6/10 (using same injector 10:1) = .6% on surface

Your xjet will come with proportioners and each will have a certain ratio. Determine which you want to use based on this calculation. My advice is do not run straight sh if you can just dilute it and still get a good solution mix. That way you’re not wasting the chemical, too.

I second the m5 xjet.

The guy should do great starting out with it.

4gpm@4000psi belt drive, 300ft pressure hose, 200ft supple, 100ft 3/8 hose for xjet, 5 gallon jug. 16 to 18 inch surface cleaner

Forgot the trailer and hose reels. Anyways, at 2.5k without the trailer should get him making money.

I’m also an X jet fan. First thing to do though is go ahead and buy 50 ft of poly hose… using the 10ft? ( I may be wrong) that it comes with can be a pain.

@awesomewash2 @Patriotspwashing @Dantheman @Donut I plan on getting poly hoses and xjet etc. I could buy a monster cold water machine for the price that I’m paying for hot water machine. But wouldn’t that limit me ? I wouldn’t be able to do fleet washes or parking lots with no hot water…and what is a supple? Ill have to Google that one. You guys build a system that you think I could make some good money with, include six hundred for trailer I have already found. Your budget is 6 grand flat.

Really don’t wanna be stuck doing residential. Interested in heavy equipment too

buy your self a box truck for 3 grand, get it wrapped, and get your self a 4gpm 4000 psi cold machine with a 350 gallon tank and an x jet. Customers don’t know or care what your equipment is, but if you roll up in a professional looking box truck you have already surpassed your competition. Why spend 6 grand on equipment before you even know what your market is? Do you have a website built? Honestly if your just a one man crew you should be able to generate enough residential house washing and condo washing to keep you going 7 days a week full time. It’s your $ and your business you do what you want, but i am a firm believer on focusing on one thing at a time until you become an expert in that area. Money goes quick, if you dont have money set aside for marketing, and bills for your first few months you might want to re think your equipment budget.

Are markets may be very different though, here in West MI, there are tons of automated large truck washes, and I have yet to see a market for heavy machinery

A company here in town that use to dominate fleet washing ended up just building 2 drive thru truck washes

Just pickin brains brother. I’m doing this part time until it turns into something. I think I wanna pull trailer for now and have the right equipment for most jobs:-)

I am in oklahoma. We have lots of dirty oilfield businesses and such. And our houses don’t mold as much, so I’m thinking that your residential market is bigger

Exactly, markets are always different. Get a hot water machine and all you have to do is create a relationship with one or two companies and they will keep you busy is your just going part time. Everyones market is different so there is never a right answer. If your looking to to get into fleets soley ( which I would if I was you from the sounds of oil industry near you) then your downstreaming set up will be much different then if you were just washes houses.
