Does every machine smoke from the oil fill?

My friend was helping me today, because I fired my employee, and he hears but machine back firing and sees it blowing white smoke from the exhaust. He kills it for me since In was on the other side of the house. I find a white plastic bag stuck on the air intake. Caused it to over heat. Melted The oil fill cap. Unbelievable what a stupid bag can do. The machine is off in the video. You only hear my other machine running.

Well it’s not supposed to be smoking from your oil fill. I know you know that. I would let everything cool down then crank it up. See what happens. And let us know.

This isn’t the first time this has happened to someone on here. I can’t remember who though. And I’m not sure how it turned out.

I let it cool down over an hour. Topped it off with oil and she’s back in it. The oil is burnt as can be now and it’s leaking oil from the filter, I think. I bet it melted the oil filter gasket. Good thing I got the warranty on this Predator.

I got through one house today. 15 mins into the second one and it started blowing oil every where. My guy saw it and killed the machine. We’re not even sure where it came from.

Honda my friend, Honda. It’s the heart of what we do, keep it quality.

If it’s blowing oil everywhere my guess is you threw a rod from it overheating and it blew a hole in the crankcase.

You did say the oil filter gasket was melted so maybe a piece fell out. Those gaskets are thick enough that would be a decent sized hole for oil to blow out.

If you take it back don’t forget to buy the extended warranty. You only get one exchange per warranty. You should’ve had your one year warranty that came with it. If you don’t purchase another warranty you won’t get another engine exchange if it blows.

The Predator was fine till that plastic bag got sucked onto it.

I’m definitely getting another warranty. I can see the melted oil cap inside the oil fill. I can’t imagine how bad the machine is inside.

Minimal blowby is normal in just about every engine ever made. More than just a whisp is usually a sign of rings going or the cylinder is scored and allowing combustion gases to pass over the rings. Sounds like you toasted that predator to me. Sorry for your bad luck man. Slap a new motor on and roll on.

You definitely can’t beat the warranty. Drain the fuel and oil and exchange. I bought a smaller one for a tiller years back and the manager told me to bring it back in before the one year mark, trade it in for new, and just pay for another one year warranty. After another year repeat. I’ve heard places make more off warranties than the actual product. I bet those cheap clone engines don’t cost crap to make. I never did take it back because it’ll last forever on a tiller that I use once or twice a year. It also doesn’t seem right to do so but if the store manager tells you to it must be helping the stores’ numbers. Either that or he just hates working there and planned on quitting soon…lol

I never get warranties but I did on the Predator because of the recommendations by guys on here. Glad I listened. I still can’t believe a plastic bag did so much damage to this machine. I wonder if my guy didn’t catch it if the machine could have caught fire and burned my enclosed trailer down.

It absolutely could have so count your blessings and buy your guy a nice lunch.
