Documentation is key!

Hey all, I just wanted to share a great life lesson for you new guys. When it comes to commercial or residential work, make sure you document everything. Right now a commercial account that dropped me yesterday is claiming that I applied too much salt (yes I know this is not pressure washing related). They said I should not have salted the entire lot “you have never salted the entire lot before” it sounds like they are likely going to try and get out of the charge. Funny thing is I just emailed him screenshots and invoices from last year where we did the same process and he thanked me in an email last year! LOL he has no leg to stand on at this point thanks to documentation!

So a life lesson for you is that you should email and document a process. This one just saved me a couple thousand!

Why would one not salt the entire lot? Lol. Never heard of that.

Being cheap?

Because half of the lots are gravel and are used for storing farm equipment that they make. Usually when we plow enough of the gravel is showing that it is not slippery. But when you get 16 inches of snow you end up with some snow-pack and are not able to get down to bare gravel.

I have also always tried to salt it as little as possible because the gravel will get loose if I do. Then the next time I plow I end up pushing a ton of gravel off.

Being jerks! They have money to burn and they brag about it. I have been told multiple times that money is not a worry we just want it done right… Well we did it right and here we are.

Gravel is the aluminum siding of pressure washing. I hated plowing gravel

These 2 locations have a combined 10 acres of gravel… Another reason why I didn’t loose any sleep last night over the loss of the account. It sucks that I usually pull about 40-50k from them a year but I have my pride.
