Do you walk the roof?

I don’t know how I washed roofs without these shoes. Washed two roofs and a couple driveways and still finished earlier. I should have bought these the same day as my 12v.

How do these cougar paws work on metal roof washing? Do they maintain a good grip once the roof gets wet? Got a larger metal roof coming up, it’s also a bit steep. I’m thinking I may need to hit this one from the roof line but I’d prefer to walk it.

What version did you get?

They are still slippery when the metal roof gets wet. Kinda a slow slide . Very uncomfortable but manageable up to 6/12 above that it’s very risky.

I got the ones with the pads. I don’t do many metal roofs. In fact this will only be my third. I should invest in the magnetic boots any way. Ill probably just end up doing this one from the roof line or from the back side. Only doing street facing side.

Thanks, that gives me a better idea of what to expect. This on is really high up. If I decode to step on the roof I will harness up but I’ll give it a shot from the roof line.

I, and my guys, are on roofs literally every day of the week all year long. The best shoes I’ve found are these cheap $10 Walmart shoes. Scuff the bottoms up on concrete before you go up the first time and they’re just as good as cougar paws, if not better.

Hey @mikehallyall, are you still using these?

How you tried cougar paws?

Hey Garry, we actually made the switch to a different walmart brand shoe last year. They are actually much better on roofs than even cougar paws imo. I don’t know what it is, but they just stick to asphalt shingles like you wouldn’t believe. We do a lot of gutter cleaning, so our guys are on roofs all day every day and they love these. Robot or human?

I doubt that. Are you walking pitches like these?

Everyday my friend.

That’s not even close. but you use whatever works for you.

I hear ya, haha. Just post up a pic with your guys walking a 12:12 in those sneakers when you find it.

Don’t judge too hard, that is just the roof I had readily available right now at my house. We walk just about every roof for our gutter cleaning services.

Thanks for the update Michael!

I will if I think about it the next time I am with the guys at an especially steep roof. But if you want to spend several hundred $$$ for shoes and still have to pay $20 for replacement pads when a $20 shoe will do just as well that’s on you. Just trying to give a great alternative.

Sorry, deleted the other one bc I saw I had just responded to myself :joy:

Dang it! I did it again @Steve! Lol, how does technology work again?

I guess that I don’t find $150 - $200 to be that much for a work shoe. All in the perspective I guess.
