Do NOT give your dog rawhides

How’d everything go Kenny?

Talked to them last night and this morning. Once they got her opened up they found that the rawhides had turned into a thick paste and did not have to cut any of her intestines to remove anything. She’s still passing a lot of blood but is alert and getting her appetite back. They’re keeping her until everything is back to normal. Her kennel is by the door where they can monitor her closer and when ever someone touches the door knob she alerts the whole building. They said she’s doing her job. She’s lost a good bit of weight she’s down to 58 lbs but at her age she should gain her weight back once she’s healed. But still has a ways to go. But being only 7 months old she should be fine

I’m glad they didn’t have to cut her intestines. I know how much our pets can mean to us. I have 3 Huskys and I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to even one of them. My sister in law is a vet so I’ve heard my fair share of the horror stories. I’ll pray for a continued recovery. :+1:

Penny suggested a walk-a-thon to raise Kong money for Bama, but then I told her they’re like $20. Turns out she just wanted her daily walk.

I make beef ribs at least 1 or 2 times a week for my dogs. Anytime the grill gets fired up, ribs are going on it for them. They even know as soon as I grab the paper from the bin we keep junk mail in to fire up the chimney for the wood. I cook em med rare most of the time even though they can easily eat raw meat no issues. Just give them a little smoke and spice to flavor it a bit.

I know never give them chicken bones that’s for sure and pork bones only go to the little ones - my Sheppard will tear threw them like nothing. BTW - that Sheppard is missing a screw. He is addicted to anything with flour - bread, tortillas, muffins, etc. Leave anything like that on the counter and it will be gone come morning.

My Sheppard doesn’t care for bread at all. But our Newfie when he was a puppy would inhale butter cubes. It took us 5 or so to figure out what was going on! :joy:

Kong Balls are awesome. They actually make dog friendly EZ-Cheese to spray inside of them now. I gave my dog one after lettin it sit in the freezer for an hour and it kept him happy for hours.

When we first adopted Eddie he decided to help himself to some papadum bread from our table. If you never had it, there’s a ton of pepper in it.

Hasn’t taken anything off the table in the 2. years since lol
