DIY soap dried on siding

Gave a quote today on a house. Homeowner states he used the simple green concentrated cleaner on his home and then tried to pressure wash it off. He let one side dry and now there are obvious run marks on that side. I explained to him that I would try my best to fix that side but no guarantee. I play on doing a few test spots before starting. Any suggestions on what would help blend the run marks or remove them all together ? They have been on there since the end of last summer.

I would just try SH at first. The Simple Green and pressure might’ve removed some oxidation. That means you would have to finish removing it to fix it right which requires scrubbing. Gutter Grenade can help with oxidation removal. Another thing you could try on the Simple Green that dried is reapplying it and then rinsing it after it dwells. That’s what works if you let SH dry. I’m still thinking the oxidation was disturbed though since he used pressure.

I’ve got some gutter Grenade I’ll use for a test spot. However the house is only 6 years old, I rubbed it and nothing came off so I don’t think there much oxidation if any.

Got pictures?

Well what kind of siding is it first?

I didn’t take any photos. It is vinyl siding

What would be a good mix to try the gutter Grenade on the side with run marks ? I’d like to just try it out with a pump up sprayer.

If you’re sure it’s not oxidized I would hold off on the Gutter Grenade for now. If you do use it the best way is to use a 5 gallon bucket and dip a green multi directional brush in, do one quick swipe to apply, let dwell 5–10 minutes, dip brush again, and scrub. It’s definitely not a spray on rinse off for oxidation removal. I would try SH first. If that doesn’t work might as well try the Simple Green since that’s what they let dry on the siding. If it is just dried Simple Green it might just work. If the lines are from removed oxidation then try the Gutter Grenade and brushing. I would probably walk if the SH doesn’t work. I would consider walking anyways. If you do the job be sure to take plenty of before pictures or video just in case.

This is the ingredient list of the house cleaner the homeowner used, not sure if this would help anyone with more experience know how to remove the streaks/run marks it left behind.

What all have you tried so far?

Haven’t been back yet. Scheduled to go next Tuesday

Just checking back, completed the job. The homeowner was made well aware that I would be able to remove all green and black organic growth however no guarantee on the spots from dried house wash. I tried SH with my DS. originally it looked great, while wet. When it dried there was still obvious marks from the homeowners attempt to clean his home. I tried a little gutter grenade in an inconspicuous spot and it did appear to help. I informed the homeowner that it could be removed but would involve brushing the whole house. He said he would end up doing it himself if it bothered his wife too much and was happy with the work completed.
