Discount on eddm postage!

Attention, anyone who has ever done or wanted to do an EVERY DOOR DIRECT MAIL!

For the first time, the post office is offering a 10% off discount on EDDM Postage. It is normally .191 cents per card. Now through the end of September, the postage is .172 per card. That kind of savings adds up quickly. We have no idea when this will happen again, if ever!

EDDM is a great way to market- especially now. You can adhere to all social distancing rules, and they are great for areas that do not allow soliciting. You can hit hundreds of homes in a single route, and you can send out as few or as many routes at one time as you would like.

We even have a full service option where we do the mailing for you.

I am available if anyone has any questions, comments or concerns! Stay safe out there =)

Seems it only applies to retail, so no discount if you use a permit. Darn

@Jill_Okun You should remind people you’re with windowcleaner.com . :grinning:
When I first read this, I thought it was someone spamming the site until I went and saw your previous post last month was for the WC site. :muscle:

Hi,

Permits are for direct, or bulk mailing. This is when you send post cards out to a mailing list of actual addresses. Postage for mailing out those kinds of post cards do require a permit, and the postage rates are much different. You are dealing with standard and first class mailing, which are more expensive to mail out.

EDDM does not require any kind of permits, as long as the proper indicia is printed on the card. Also, EDDM is the lowest possible postage rate out there for mail marketing. Those are some of the reasons it is so popular. Anyone can do it.

As mentioned, it is very rare for the post office to be offering this kind of discount. If something ever comes up for any other type of mailing, you guys will be the first to know.

I use my permit for EDDM as well as direct list. The main reason I do is so that I can drop off to multiple zip codes at the same time without going to different post offices. The price is only slightly discounted (.187), but the driving around to mail is greatly reduced.

Understood. Yes, you can use the permit, however you are not required to. And yes, if you have a large mailing radius, you will possibly need to go to multiple post offices, and this does take time and money. You will of course need to take this into consideration when selecting your routes.

If you wanted to take advantage of the discount, you do not need to use your permit if you planned on sending anything out in the next month. You can log on to the USPS website, and pay through their portal, allowing you to get the 10% off. We can also send you the retail indicia file, if you would like to use it.

Good to know, thanks! Sorry about that.
