That’s what I was confused about

I try to stick to $100-$125 minimum depending how busy i am.

At $100 a lot of driveways around here are covered, and normally charge less if included with a house wash. I have done some HOA stuff for $50-75 when ppl get a letter, but only if close to home.

I dont normally travel far anyway. so a quick job that takes 20 min isnt a big deal, but i do try and stick to the minimum when i can/reasonable. It seems that once customers hear they will be spending atleast X amount and you are willing to take care of their needs, then those that want it done are fine… those that are kicking tires not so much.

And like someone said, if im hooked up and its a neighbor… ill likely do it.

If you do common areas for HOAS POAS CDDS & are in there 2 days a week [1000 + home master communities] ask to have your info placed on all compliance letters, & if you do exemplary work & you must if your working for them anyway 8 of 10 will include your info, break your minimum then but don’t discount yourself to much.

I can see the upside of that. It’s like you they put their own bait out and you are the only one that’s reeling them in. I like it. Hope you don’t mind if I adopt that into the business model.

While I see where you guys are coming from, I would venture that people like that are doing much more wrong with their business, then just being overly stubborn on pricing and minimums.

There are successful companies who have high minimums and booked schedules, and are raking in money along with raving reviews year after year.

And then there are guys who read about that success, but get greedy and don’t want to put in the work required to earn that success in their business. They want something for nothing, essentially. They want premium pricing for just-par service.

Personally, I have no interest in being the busiest pressure washer or window cleaner in my area. Just the best, highest rated, and best paid. So far that plan seems to be working out. But I’ve paid my dues to get here. And I believe I have the humility to adjust my approach if circumstances change.

I get where you are coming from. I don’t care to be the best, highest paid or highly reviewed. I routinely ask people not to leave reviews or share my info with neighbors or others. All that just leads to more work. I’m happy with being the most efficient and middle of the road on most everything else.

That definitely sounds like a less stressful approach, especially if you have employees.

If we ever move to a more populated area, I might try reinventing myself and go with the name, “Good Enough Power Washing”

My marketing campaign might be something along these lines,

Lol…

That’s what I’m talking about. That’s why I don’t wash high end or large homes. We do great work at a decent price. I never claim to bev the best. To much pressure.

Yeah, I always get nervous when I get the impression that a customer might be more of a perfectionist than I am. Told one guy like that recently (half joking) that I need a couple 4-star reviews to help set realistic expectations :smirk:

I have found a total of 3 reviews for my business. That’s too many. Less internet presence the better. You video is awesome. I so want to work for that guy

My son just heard me listening to that and said, “that’s rhett and link”. They drew local guys with some type of tv show on YouTube that my son likes. Small world. Met them at church once and backstage with my boys at a concert thing they did.

Serious commercial or a joke? Maybe it’s a Southern thing?

My wife says serious. She knows the two and said they started out writing jingles and doing commercials
