Today I was thinking about if it might be possible to run a burner after a 12v system so I could heat up my vinegar to make cleaning lime, concrete, and scrap trucks easier lol.
Just thought it might be interesting to hear what other interesting/crazy/stupid ideas you’ve had related to this industry.
Who knows maybe some cool invention will come out of it!
Lately I’ve been wondering if my x-jet will work the same if I mod it to be a DS injector… or if it will even work at all. Lugging around heavy buckets suck when I need to use it. Pretty sure I’m putting together a 12v setup next week.
I completely bypassed getting an XJet just because I know myself well enough to know that I’d hate carrying a bucket around just to wash something. You can look at my thread labelled “The Most Basic Soft Wash Setup”. It is done about as cheaply as possible and paid for itself on the first job.
I did not have a chem tank to begin with. I actually used a 25 gallon bucket/trough and just put my drop tube in it. There was no way to seal it so I made sure to only mix what I needed. Hell, I’m still using the garden hose! I have had to change out the gaskets a couple of times but its held up fine so far. I just read in another thread that Flexzilla is chemical resistant so I’ll be switching to 1/2" in that and I’m tired of dealing with my cheapo supply hose so it’s getting replaced with Flexzilla ASAP.
Nice!! After hearing their air hose is pretty much the same as the garden hose, and PVC will work good for SH I’ve been considering trying this cheap hose for my set up.
You certainly could but I’d recommend having one solid run of hose. Every connection or joint will be a possible failure area and since most of us use 12v systems to apply high strength solutions you definitely don’t want one of those connections leaking onto someone’s Zoysia grass.
My cheapo setup is pieced together out of 50ft sections and it gives me heartburn every time I use it because I know the ramifications if it fails. Since none of us are Usain Bolt I doubt we would get back to the trailer in time to kill the pump before it pours GALLONS into the lawn or whatever.
12v is obviously low pressure so I wouldn’t imagine any issues with drawing chemical. The toughest thing to do in my mind would be how to adapt a DSI to hose barbs. Of course, you could probably just do the 3 way valve thing
This isn’t a wild idea at all… actually I like where you’re headed with this. What difference does it make if it’s at the start of the flow or near the end?
That’s what I was thinking. The little one starts daycare next week so I’ll have more time to mess around. I’ll make an update if I figure something out.
Or a remote ball valve before the barb to cut off soap so long as you can find one that will withstand 4000 psi then you can still rinse the x-jet out and whatever you’re washing without going back to the truck.
